BSN online?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am in a 2yr. nursing program. Along with those courses I am taking the 4 remaining classes I need to roll over to the BSN program after graduation. With having children at home and the need to go out and earn a 'real' living, getting my BSN online would be ideal instead of on campus. I am interested in hearing the pros and cons from anyone who has earned thier BSN online. Or anyone who knows anything about this. I am getting alot of clinical experience through the program I am currently in. The NCLEX test I will take is the same one the BSN graduates take. Approx. half of the classes I have to take for the BSN degree are available online now. So would it be a bad thing to take the rest of them online as well? I just really don't know what I will be getting into.

Thanks

I'm doing an RN to BSN program online. The main reason was because I working nights online was the way to go. I'm working days and could go to a local RN to BSN here in person, but I love online learning.

It fits in well with my work schedule, working only 3 12-hour shifts a week. I've had very positive experiences with it.

Check out this board there are a few discussions about it.

Feel free to ask any specific questions either there, or here.

Hi

I am a AAS nurse with 15 years under my belt. I started nursing at a local community college but finished with Excelsior. I currently go to Phoenix online and think other then the cost it has been a positive experience. You need you clinical expereince from the job but it related well to critical thinking skills needed in the profession
