i'm either doing something very worng, or no one wants to hire me!!!! 16 months and still no job!!!!!! is it because it went to molloy college, is it because i'm brown, is it because i have 2 BS degrees, Is it because I have great recommendations, is it because i'm too old (27) or to young. It it because i'm too flexible ( willing to work any days, shifts, holidays, weekends). i dont know what the problem is. I guess it is me.
I cant find a job as a nurse cause i'm inexperienced and Target and McDonalds wont hire me cause i'm over qualified!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!, What should i DO????

If you have tried 9 different states and are willing to relocate, then expand your search. There is a job for you out there somewhere. Good luck.

Have you tried nursing homes, hospice, home health? How about flu clinics? What have you done these past 16 months to keep up with your nursing skills? Try volunteering do something to show employers that despite the bad economy that you are trying to use your nursing skills. Maybe your resume and cover letter need to be spiffied up? Don't give up. I've heard Texas is good and one of the Carolinas( don't remember which one). Good luck!

Have someone look at your resume and cover letter. Also, if you haven't already, start applying to places in person.

If you're getting interviews, it's clearly not your resume that is the problem. Have you had someone critique your interview style?

For Da_Milk_of_Amnesia, that's great that you were able to land a job out of nursing school in '09, unfortunately, not all of us has the same luck. And in case you didn't know, it has been very hard getting a job as a new grad in NY for the past couple of years, ask the majority of new grads out there and they would agree.
As for skny, I feel as if I'm reading a post that I wrote, I graduated in May 09 with my BSN and still no job. I also have another BS degree and I'm your age, flexible with scheduling and everything else. It really does seem unfair The only advice I can give you is to get a job in the meantime, just take out the part that you have a nursing degree and just say that you're a nursing student. The only thing a nursing degree does these days is hold us back I hate to do it, but I do have alot of loans to pay off.
