BSN without reservation. Get your ASN only if finances dictate, but then have a plan to continue your education.
You will have many more opportunities with a BSN.

Many associate degree (ASN/ADN) nursing programs are located at technical and community colleges. ACEN accredits most of these programs, use their search function to locate programs by state and program type:

ASN programs typical take 3 years (including pre-reqs like A&P and Microbiology) unless you are an LPN/LVN doing a bridge program.

I don't know that you could get an associates after already having a bachelors, however, there are 2nd bachelor nursing programs out there as well.

I have never heard of a 1 year ASN program except for those persons who are already LPN's.
