Hello!
Just wondering if any of you have advice for me! I already have a BS in Healthcare Admin and I am working on my ADN right now. I know that BSN is going to continue to be the preferred degree in the future so I am sure that I will continue my nursing education in the future. I am also interested in becoming a NP. Does anyone know what my best course of action might be? Are there programs for ADN's who already have a BS in non nursing? Can I just go straight into my Master's? I'm so confused :) Thank you in advance for taking time to share your knowledge!

I have heard of specific programs for bachelor to bsn. They sound pretty intense but could be worth it if you already have your bachelors degree.

Yes, you can go directly into an MSN program. One example: Excelsior College | Nursing Masters Nursing Education FAQ
I don't know how this would tie into your plans for NP, however. But the programs are there. You just have to look for them. I did my BSN with this college, so that's how I knew about its MSN requirements.

Yes, there are programs that will accept those with a non-nursing bachelors, degree. They generally require you complete designated baccalaureate level course prior to starting any graduate level coursework. The University of South Alabaman’s RN - MSN Track for RN’s with a Non-Nursing Bachelor's Degree is an example of one such program.
Thanks so much! I also saw Vanderbilt has a program. I'm so glad to know they are out there!

Thanks so much for this post. I had the same question:)
I have done more research and this is definitely something that is offered in a LOT of places via a variety of methods! In fact, we would be better off to do one of the many ADN to MSN programs. Looks like it is only 2 semesters difference and good ol Financial Aid would help us get our Master's
