  1. Uworld is has extremely informative rationale. Worth the money in my opinion.
  2. In Pa it seems to differ depending on the facility. I don't believe they have state wide policies regarding lifts/moving that I have ever heard
  3. I have a short well trimmed beard and had no problems in clinical. Also I work as an orderly. Anyone who doesn't pass fit test has to grab a full head mask when in a room requiring respirator.
  4. SAT score should be irrelevant. I was always under the impression they were an indicator for your ability to handle/ succeed in college level classes. If you have a decent amount of creds under you belt I don't see why it would matter. I am in a program and have never taken the SAT. I do have a good GPA and about 70 credits
  5. In my experience its best to really have a good working knowledge of what you are learning in your fundamentals course. Take Your Time and think the questions out. My first test I rushed and just didn't feel like doing it. Scored 780 73 conversion score. Without Specific studying but just using concepts learned in class through the semester I got 1267-99.99 conversion score in second test. For me it was just focusing on adpie abcs and General pt safety.
  6. If you have a reading score of 89 and passed the rest of the sections. I would be SHOCKED if you didn't get in. Decent science score helps also but you should be good!
  7. I have heard of specific programs for bachelor to bsn. They sound pretty intense but could be worth it if you already have your bachelors degree.
  8. I would think the bsn, but also in my experience jobs posted may have been unofficially filled before they were posted. Some one in house usually has a head start
  9. I'm also a new nursing student into early thirties. I have been doing very well on my tests. I would say to read the questions carefully to determine what is really being asked and how it relates to what you are being taught. Safety is usually at the core of the question. Try not to just memorize facts but understand the relevance. They say there is usually more than one correct answer so pick the most correct with highest priority. That's the best advise I can think of. Good luck!
  10. I'm currently in my first clinical rotation. I work as a transporter at a hospital I know has students from my school. My clinical is not there. I was so glad it wasn't however now I kind of wish it were. I have been at my job for a long time and know and am on good terms with everyone. I see that now as a huge advantage and hope I can get a rotation there before I graduate
  11. Newly married new male nursing student here. Light socializing without the spouse seems fine. 8 hour study group seems a little excessive to me. My wife is supportive as anything but I have to remind her sometimes that I need my time for studying and such. I do however make sure. To put in my time with her between work and school. It takes two. Spouse needs to accommodate the fact that school is like a full time job. But have to keep your marriage a priority too.
  12. Wow 24 hours a week!? I'm in a full time ADN program while taking one online class at a time for my Bsn. Lab, lecture and clinical combine for 13 hours a week
  13. My wife has a Kia sportage. Smaller suv, attractive and good on gas. Has four wheel drive. Does well in the snow for sure
  14. My wife and I just watched Sherlock. Awesome show
