Hey guys! Anyone planning on applying for the January/Spring 2021 start date at Broward? I know the applications just opened up.

Is anyone else trying to work full time and do the program full time? I have no family support, so I’m kinda stuck doing it on my own. ? I didn’t want to be stuck in a part time program for 3 years.

I don't want to discourage you, but there is absolutely no way to work full time and do the program full time. At least not in the first semester.

Unfortunately no... I just don’t see how. Like @barbiedoll2244 mentioned I don’t see how it would be possible especially in the first 8 weeks. I’ve been busting my butt and working 2 jobs the last 3 years to save for this occasion and I’m lucky enough to have a significant other that can take a big chunk when it comes to bills. I would like to work my part time job a couple days a week but I’m still going to go very light with that until I see what I can handle. It does suck though because I don’t blame you for not wanting to do part time. That seems sooo dragged out

If I get accepted in the part time program then I will be working full time and it’s do the reasons lack of family support and spouse support. Plus I have three small Children so. That is the reason I’m willing to risk three years of the program and now if I don’t get in the part time then I will go for the full and eventually work during the weekends maybe .. so I’ll see what happens next I know it’s a hard program and know this one girl did being full time student and worked during the weekend and it did work for her ... so I don’t know ...
There are plenty of ways to pay for school. Career Source has a grant, it's time consuming, but worth it in the long run, if you qualify. Loans is another option, but I heavily advise against loans if you can avoid them. The interest rate is INSANE if you don't pay the off immediately.
Options are out there, and only you can decide what is best for you and your family.
I applied to both, because me not working for almost 2 years isn't something I can even wrap my head around. I'm fortunate to have a husband that has an amazing job and salary, but it's going to be a significant change to go from a 2 salary household to 1.

All you can do is pray about it... I would also speak to someone in financial aid or maybe even Nichole when she’s not so busy and maybe someone can help advise you a little better. But I do know in the program info session it was drilled in that working full time just wasn’t possible during the full time program. I do have a friend that got through the first two processes and was able to then start working again on the weekends.
I make amazing money with my job and I’ve saved $6K in 3 months so far just for the first few months in the program and work part time when I need to. But that money runs out which with bills every month. ? I thought you could only apply to either part time or full time, not both. I’m so confused.

I don't know. All I know is I submitted 2 separate applications. 1 for the part time program, and one for the full time program.
