Hey guys! Anyone planning on applying for the January/Spring 2021 start date at Broward? I know the applications just opened up.
I pretty much did the same thing. I did all my BSN prerequisites just in case if I decided to go to another school either a public university oR a private one. So I was thinking of going to FIU , nova, Chamberlain.. But to be honest FIU is like 45 min away from my house and chamberlain is actually 80k and nova is like 50k but if you all you BSN classes it cuts to 40k and from I heard you need a co signer for loans and stuff so I was like naahhh ! I rather stick to a community college since is much more affordable..!
My points are also low ..! So you’re not the only one ... ?

Girl YES. In my opinion those schools are 100% a rip off. I completed all of my BSN gen ED requirements through PBSC with the intentions of doing their bridge program over to FAU and then they did away with it. I talked to Nova and they quoted me 80k for the last two years of my BSN. That is nuts. I was shook LOL such a waste of money. I’d much rather continue to pay out of pocket for school at $300 a class than be in debt up to my eye balls by the time I’m done. But those schools don’t really explain that to you. They tell you just to take out loans without explaining the interest and how you’re literally only paying interest for YEARS if you’re only doing the min payment. It’s really sad. I would much rather stay at community college and eventually complete their 1 year BSN program. There just aren’t a lot of people to advocate for that if you aren’t already educated about it. It’s actually really sad.

I heard that it’s based on your credit history and a few actually look at your grades for some of them. If I don’t get in this semester, then I plan on applying for Summer semester and if that doesn’t work out I was thinking of going to chamberlain/nova since I’ll have all my BSN classes after this semester.

Crazy thing is I live less than 5 minutes away from FIU ....But I went to FAU in Boca Raton for 2 years and I owe $20K in loans. I don't want to get stuck in my debt. I believe this Spring semester is alittle harder than the other semester from what I saw on BC's cirrculum pdf page.

Only way to get into FAU's nursing program is if you applied straight of out high school or complete a bachelor's degree with any major and then get into their fast track program, it's so ridiculous.

I know! They used to have a bridge program a couple years ago for PBSC students to bridge over into their BSN program and then they did away with it. I don’t get it. That seemed like it would be a huge money maker for them.

if you look under the RN program tab and then the additional information. Spring semester point averages are 3+ compared to Summer or Fall which is 1+. Which has me nervous.
@madison864 so this is what the tuition and fees look like ... the other file where it shows the interest and all I lost it or I think I deleted but here is an idea how expensive it is ...!

Ah yes I saw that. But that was also pre COVID. It seems like points dropped since covid

Since they only consider anatomy 1 & 2 which I got B's on and in chem and micro I got A's. It's truly a struggle! I studied the HESI for 2 months, same. No more redoing any of those.
