Has anyone turned in their application yet?! Btw, I heard that Central campus might NOT have a May class
Well, I think I have 12 or 13 points, but it is only based on my calculations, so I could be wrong.
I just want this so much that I worry about not having the chance to do it. I bought some books and am studying ahead, which would make it seem like I am confident about getting in, but strangely, I am not assuming anything, and won't be surprised if I don't get in for some reason.

If you don't get in with 12 points, I will personally cover your entire tuition for both years.
Oh, by the way, besides the Potter and Perry text, I bought a used (and unmarked!)study guide for a dollar, which seems helpful, and a math calculations book, just for fun, called "Calculate with Confidence." It got good Amazon reviews, so I picked up a 4th edition( with CD) for about 2 bucks, as well.
Hey peeps,
Hey Dawn, it's jonathan. Well, here's the deal. I can't afford to wait to get in. I have 8 points total, and i'm kinda worried and hoping that i will make it in the summer, but i'm not sure because i heard that they might not have a summer rn program at central. Regardless, i heard that 8 points should get me in so i'm gonna cross my fingers. From everything i've read, here is the one thing i understand. When it's gonna come down to being in nursing, we shouldn't worry about anything else. Forget about instructors giving us a hard time, we need to make sure we succeed. I think it's safe to say that a lot of us NEED this education. We need to get good jobs, and getting back to work. So i'm not gonna let some instructors make me lose my cool or focus. They can yell at me all they want, humiliate me in front of the whole class, and work me to the bone, but i will come out of their with my degree because I have to.

I just came back to this thread and don't remember the entirety of the discussion. I'm assuming your reference to humiliation was in regards to the North vs Central debate. And while I admire your determination, if you have the choice to make it easier on yourself, why not take it?
I can relate to your situation, as I really can't afford to wait. I'm hoping against all hope to make 8 points (I need a 100% on my final exam in APII...) but be prepared for the possibility that 8 may not be enough. From what I've heard from others, I think 10 points was the cutoff for the last session. However 8's and 9's were accepted as alternates and all the alternates got in.
With that said, May isn't a normal session. The bad news, is that there are less spots available. (especially if central doesn't offer it, but I haven't seen or heard anything to validate this rumor) The good news, and I'm not sure how good it is....but supposedly people are discouraged from taking the may session because I think you only have 6 weeks compared to the normal 8 weeks for pharmacology and math.
It's scary, being that close to the cutoff. And I honestly cant wait around for another semester, let alone take the time and the money to redo my prereqs. If I don't pull a flawless victory on this exam, I'm going to have to put nursing school on the back burner for god knows how long.

Oh, i totally agree with you. In fact, i was suppose to make it into the january class, but was unable to because i needed HCC and believed that God might have something to do with this because of the fact that Central instructors are horrible. I just know that regardless, i will pass this nursing program. I was told that summer had more spots available due to the fact that both campuses took students in, but what you say does make sense. I hope you make it in to. Right now times are hard, and I believe it is imperative for everyone to go to school and aim to get a better education, so hang in there, and study hard.

Hey Dawn. Yeah, I got my anatomy book the same way. It was like $.99. And I had no problems using it through the courses.
Are you worried about getting in? I'm a little low on points too. I heard 8 points is enough to be an alternate, but it's going to be close whether or not I even make that.
