Has anyone turned in their application yet?! Btw, I heard that Central campus might NOT have a May class
Hey everyone!!
I'm applying for the May 2010 program as well and was wondering about the point system...
Do they add on points for each additonal class I took which will go towards my AS degree like Micro and the Lab and a class towards a behavioral sciene like Psy2012?? I also took Art appreciation, will they add a point for that?
Without adding any additional points I have 9 total...
Do you guys think thats enough to get in for the summer? What I'm also wondering about is that I didnt take ENC1101 because I took an AP exam which went to cover that class...So I wont have a grade factored into the Pre-req GPA...it will just be blank...Do you think that that will benefit me or hurt my chances of getting in, in the long run?
Sorry to ask soo many questions, I'm just nervous about getting in:( Do you guys know anyone who got in with a 9 last semester?

None of your classes matter except the main 4 listed as pre-reqs. Only in the case of a tie will micro be counted. Nothing else makes a difference.
Unfortunately, I don't think a pass/fail in the AP class will help you as much as an actual grade. You'd need to talk to an advisor to see just how they calculate it, or if you need an actual grade. I wish I could be of more help.
9 points is on the low end. Rumor has it last session cut off at 10 points. But the 8's an 9's were alternates and all alternates were accepted. (Secondhand info)
I'm applying with 8 points, so we'll see how it goes.
Yea I know 9 is not very good, I'm hoping it will be enough though.. Have you already completed your AA or taken other classes besides their Pre-req's? Are you planning on going to the central campus too?
I had an interview on monday at Nova but there's no way I can afford to go there without taking out loans and its three years..:/
Did you apply to MDC? I didnt get in, they're only looking at 3.7 and up..which is crazy...
Well good Luck to you!!!!:)

I already have a full AA, but you don't get any points for that. And there are rumors that central campus wont be offering a may session, but I don't believe it. I havent honestly decided on campus yet. Central is supposed to be a lot rougher.
I haven't bothered applying anywhere else. Nova costs and arm an a leg for essentially the same degree. What is it, 10 times as much as BC? More?
And MDC is too far for me, and I've heard they're far more competitive.
I was at Health Science admissions last week and the woman sitting behind the little desk said that Central will have a May program..but you never know maybe not...I'm reading all these posts about how tough the first semester is, I wish I could take Pharm now and get it out of the way...and then the math tests that they give all the time..that scares me a little..Oh well, we'll see I'm not even in yet:)

I was thinking the same thing. Theres an entire semester between now and the start of the program. It would be so much nicer to get Pharm out of the way when its the only thing you have to focus on. -sigh- Too bad.

No, you're wrong. In August and January, there are three campuses taking in students. In may there only two, or possibly one this time. I still don't know if I believe that.
And sometimes, all you can do is it give it the old college try, close your eyes, and let god do his thing. If it's meant to happen, the odds don't matter. Especially with your determination. Best of luck.
