hey all :)i'm planning on applying to the bc nursing program.
i don't know much about it but if you were accepted what was your gpa?
my pre-req gpa was only a 3.3 when i started. however, the program was more competitive for the upcoming class. so, i don't think 3.3 would cut it this year.
my prereq gpa is a 3.7 is that what they look at or do they look at cumulative?
they only look at your pre-req gpa for the following classes:
enc 1101
chem
a&p i and ii and the labs
do you have to take a nursing entrance test?
no entrance test yet. although, they've been talking about implementing one for a while.

congrats!
BC is a good program---sometimes it is unfair & you get treated with disrespect from some instructors--- but once you are done, you study and pass your test and get a decent paying job.
I finished before they started doing the point system & I am glad, because based on that, I probably would not have gotten in the program.
good luck.
Ohmylove, with that gpa for the pre-reqs, you should have no problem getting in. My sister got in for Jan 09 with a 3.57. I belive that the cut off was around 3.4 unless you were a member of HOSA for which you got 5pts and if you had a 3.2pt, you probably would have been able to get in.
You will be fine. If you have not taken Micro, I strongly suggest that you do as it is not adviseable to take Micro while in Nursing School.
Hmmm..Broward College, what can I say. I guess all nursing college have negatives as well as positives. However, some instructors at Broward College can be very petty. They fail many students with good nursing potential all the time. Please be very careful with these instructors, if they tell you to jump, ask how high. As with any other schools they can be a pain in the ass. I do not entertain petty talks with my instructors neither do I challenge them. I just simply do what I am told to do and if I am not sure I ask questions. Please do the same.
Yes and No. You have to be accepted to the college before you apply to the nursing program. When you apply to the college, you'll submit all of your transcripts and the info is entered into the computer. When you submit your application to the nursing program, they will confirm your pre-req grades on the computer. I simply handed my application to the health science admissions officer, who reviewed it, wrote my gpa down, and put it in the heap of other apps.
