Broward college nursing program 2020

Published

Hello!

I'm a prospective nursing student for January 2020 at Broward college! I know I am super early but I am just overwhelmed with excitement! I took my HESI test yesterday, and to be honest I wasn't sure I would pass. I gave myself enough time to re-take it again in 30 days and then submit my application. Well.... I studied for 13 days straight and I passed!!! If you'd like some tips, I'd be happy to share. Just let me know. I submitted my application today, so fingers crossed. I know it will be a while but I am happy I finally made it this far. Hope to hear from any other applicants! ?

South has one day only main reason I chose south instead of central

I just looked at North and they also have only 1 day of clinical and lab. Hmmm not sure why it differs for Central.

Right. Guess I’ll ask whenever I get the chance. Either way I’m glad that part is over. Just grateful for the opportunity.

Same here!

The flu shot isnt free at publix ur insurance just covers it. I thought the same thing went there and the will run your insurance then it is no money otherwise u have to pay

So my understanding is that in the beginning clinicals will be two days regardless of the campus because we will not actually be in the hospital. Instead, we will be on campus in the nursing building learning some basics before going into the hospitals. So instead of having one 10-12 hour day of clinicals in the hospital, it'll be two somewhat shorter days (TW) on campus until we are released to begin clinicals at our clinical site. I could be wrong, but this was my understanding. Based on this, we will need to be on campus every single day of the week for this first month at least.

Thank you. That makes sense. It was just a little confusing looking at the schedules but that makes a lot of sense.

Remember, any questions you have regarding the scheduling, you can ask at your program orientation in a few weeks as well.

Good afternoon all:

I hope everyone is now registered. There were some hiccups this morning with registration. It happens, especially when over 200 of you are trying to register at the same time ?

If you have any issues, you can email me directly and I will work with the appropriate departments to correct them.

Oh I didn't know publix had free flu shots! Good to know! I called another place and they quoted me 165. I'm going to stop by now and see that price is legit haha. thanks!

That's if you have insurance.. they actually pay you (give you a $10 Publix giftcard)

Got it! Costco has the flu shots for $20 if not insured.

If anyone need to get their BLS certification, I highly recommend this instructor. I had the class earlier and she was amazing and thorough. Only $50. I don’t have any ties with her, she was just great!

Did you have to purchase anything for her class?
