Broward college Nursing Jan 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hello, this is a thread for any current nursing students at Broward college or those who have recently been accepted. I'm a bit confused on Broward's admission criteria. What classes exactly do they use to calculate the gpa?

College algebra

Hello!! I was accepted into the August 2014 term but will be deferring my seat for the January 2015 term. I've already completed Micro because I don't want to take it while I'm in the program.

You can ask me anything and I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Good luck to you all :)

I found out that almost everything came from the HESI book that Broward College sells in the bookstore.

good luck!!!!!

Just finished the HESI today! and scored an 83% overall. The advisor said they will start looking at applications in Sept. (but she said she was guessing, lol so who knows.) Im so glad this part of process is over, i feel relieved and ready to take a break before the intense program begins.

sincerely,

One relived future nursing student

Does anyone know of a good statistics professor? I'm on the look out ;) Thx!

hello everyone! im dede.

gearing up to apply to browards jan '15 ASN program. ive finished all of my pre reqs (taking micro+lab starting this aug/fall) and ready to take my hesi at central next week....

Ive already applied to Nova and if that falls through based on my gpa I will hopefully be seeing you guys around!

i am currently taking stats with maky manchola at central. like everyone says, math is not my strongest subject but this man will help you breeze through the course. i take my final on wednesday and currently have a 99.4% in the class!

homework, 3 quizzes, 3 tests ( lowest test dropped) the tests are identical to the the corresponding quiz, values changed ofcourse. also plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Thank you so much! :)

Hi there! I am also applying for January 2015. I took the HESI exam last Friday and I got an overall score of 88% which I don't think is a bad score for a first try. I have all my prereqs done since I was originally a pre-nursing major at FAU, but then switched to Sociology. I currently have a BA in Sociology. I really wanted to enter an accelerated BSN program, but that didn't happen as planned. Anywho, I really do pray that I get into the program because I think I've put my dream of being an RN (specifically a CNM) on hold for far too long.

How was the HESI, in your opinion?

Honestly, it was not as hard as I thought it would be. I've taken the TEAS exam before and that was a lot harder than the HESI (in my opinion). The math section consisted of basic math questions like ratios and conversions. As for the A&P section, if you've completed A&P I & II, then you'll have no problem. It's really basic question.
