Broward College nursing fall 2018

Published

Hi! I know it's pretty early to start a thread for fall but I just wanted to see somewhat of what other people have in their classes and HESI. I have to retake the anatomy portion of the test but everything else I passed, and I have a GPA of 3.18. Also, I was in another nursing program before this and didn't do so well because of what was going on in my life during that time. Do you think this will be a big issue regarding getting in??

Hey guys I just read some of these messages! I also got accepted for this August and I can't wait to meet you all during orientation!

Hey Nicole. How do I know which meeting I'm in?

Hey Nicole. How do I know which meeting I'm in?

The date and time is specified in the email.

I have an appt to get my titers and physical done today. I wonder if I'm stepping ahead of myself by getting it done before the pre-admissions meeting but it's so difficult to get an appointment with my pcp.

I got mine done a few days ago. Go for it!

Hello Everyone just found out about this page. I got accepted as well 16 points. Can't wait to meet you all. Im attending the orientation on Tuesday.

Hi congrats on being accepted. You can go on facebook there are 2 groups you can join as well as a What's App chat.

Search for Broward College Nursing Fall 2018 and the other is Broward College Nursing Central August 2018. Just join both groups as most of us did and in one of those groups you will find the link for the what's app group chat ...When we are all accepted we all joined the groups and don't really go on here as much

Looking forward to meeting you too! Congrats

Hi everyone,

A few tips for those attending pre-admissions the next two days:

BE PROMPT! I do not let people in once I start going over everything. If, by chance, you are let in by someone else, I will call you out for being late. The Nursing program does not accept tardiness. Being on time means being early.

If you do not know where building 1008 is, it is the new pretty Sim Center on Central Campus. It is located by the parking garage. If you are still unsure, take a drive TONIGHT or TOMORROW (if you are scheduled for Wednesday) so you know exactly where it is.

Bring a BLUE OR BLACK pen.

No computers or laptops. No recording devices unless approved previously. All cell phones must be turned off and put away.

There is no set dress code. I ask that you dress appropriately. No short shorts, see through clothing, no low cut shirts. Basically don't come in looking like you are going or just came from the club :) Jeans are fine. Sandals are fine.

You should have started working on your physical or at least made your appointment.

I will pop on periodically throughout the day to answer any questions.

I have a question that I'm sure will be answered during the pre-admissions but is time sensitive for me today. I had my PPD done at myPCP, it was administered and read by an MA and then verified by the MD. The MA signed the sheet where it asked who it was read by and the MD signed the "health care examiner statement" portion. Is this okay? Or is it only acceptable when the MD reads it and signs that it was read by her?

MA as in Medical Assistant? No the MA should not have signed your physical form. The MD should have signed it. MAs are not accepted.

If someone could ask about overall dress code (nails, piercings, tattoos, clothes) in the next orientation, please let me know! Totally forgot to ask about that...
