Broward College May 2017

Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

So you can apply online too. I did not know. I may do that. I'm taking the Hesi this Sat. I'm assuming once I turned in my score I can fill out the application online...

Idk if you can apply online. This was the first time I heard of it. I thought you had to go to one of the campuses

When you turn in your HESI scores, we can obligate your record for the application fee. We will have you fill out a paper application; there has been issues with the online application for some students.

Thanks for always being so kind with informative responses, :) I better turned in it in person.

I just want to reach out to all the applicants on this thread. If you applied and didn't get accepted into January. Please login to your student email and see if Nichole sent an email in regards to having your application moved to May for consideration. this Needs to be completed before January 26th. Three weeks and 2 days till the deadline.

im overly excited right now :nailbiting:

Does anyone know what the program is like at first? Will it require you full time or can you take classes whenever you'd like?

From things that I heard this program is Full time. They tell you what classes you need to take first semester, and you can pick the time that you want to take them based on what they have available. All classes need to be taken at the same campus until graduation

I would read everything and do NCLEX-style practice questions especially in the two days before tests. I found that text-to-speech (TTS) software helps me stay focused when reading.

For clinical and return demo you really just have to go over the skills over and over and over again until it's just muscle memory. It feels like rehearsing for a play, in a way.

hello how are you? I see that your a current student in the program. If your able to, could you give us future nursing students some insight on the program. What to expect, how was it when you first started, any studying tips etc. I know a lot of us are nervous being that we will be starting in a shorter term. As for gpa from my experience these last two terms students with 3.0 gpa was barely making it in. Nicole stated that recently its been really competitive compared to other terms in prior years. I had the opportunity to retake a class to get my gpa higher. I applied for January term with a 3.0 and didn't get in.

It is a full time program and not very flexible with the times but some students manage to work anyway.

The first semester you'll be registered for:

Pharmacology (full semester)

A math class (it's maybe 3 weeks long, can't really remember)

Process 1 lecture (first half semester)

Process 1 clinical (first half semester)

Process 2 lecture (second half semester)

Process 2 clinical (second half semester)

here's an example of TTS reading the wikipedia article on peptic ulcer disease
