Broward College May 2016 RN program

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for Broward's May '16 RN program! I'm finishing up my application process this week.

My hesi was a 87% overall, with 90's in Math, Reading, and Vocabulary, an 84% in grammar, and a 80% in AP.

My prerequisite GPA is a 4.0

My watch pins onto my white coat for lab which I wear everyday. I would suggest to look on Amazon for a nurses watch that pins that way you always have it and never forget since it'll always be pinned. I got a packet of 3 and put the spares in my book bag . They'll write you up for not having. A working watch so always be prepared with back up. I paid 12$ for pack of 3

Do you guys think I will be accepted with only four points rewarded for GPA :/?

If 4 is your total points you would be one of the last ones choosen. And if not you would be an alternate if someone gives up there seat you would basically be on the "waiting list"

Has anyone started buying things?

I have no idea what to buy. What should i start buying or studying?

Is there a specific watch you brought?

I bought this watch because it had military time, the second hand, the resin band (easy to sanitize), it's cheap (so if I get questionable things on it I can just dump it) and te minute, second and hour hands glow in the dark which would be helpful if I'm in a patients room that has the light off. They have different colors but I chose white. And I got a black one as a back up.

We are on the same boat.. I don't know if I should do the drug test and background check, buy stuff or study?

That looks awesome. Was it cheap?

I bought the watch and shoes. It's easier on my wallet if I get things little by little instead of all in bulk. If you go to my profile and go to comments you can see where I have been chatting with people currently in the program. They put up the reading list for the book Fundamentals of Nursing. I rented the book to get ahead. I rented it for $16 and have it until the end of June.

It was less than $20. Which to me is not bad for a watch that has everything I need. It's a Casio Women's LRW200H-7BVCF Watch just google it and it should come up.

You can't do the drug test until orientation. They give you the form you need to take to quest. I got my physical done and my forms filled out because. I was due for a physical regardless and I have insurance so I didn't have to pay out of pocket. I did titers too and turns out I don't need any vaccines because I'm immune to everything. (thanks mom!) lol

I might do the same and buy things little by little.

Lol okay so we can get a background check and physical beforehand? I just want to be clear.
