Hi RN2B,
I was also accepted and thrilled about it!!! I'm so ready to become a full time student and dive right in. At this point though I'm still working, but given that the program begins in just a few short months I'm scaling down my workload so that I can dedicate more time to studying ahead. I'd love to work part-time, but not sure it's a great idea. Are you currently working and if so what are your plans regarding working while in the program?
yeah...thats great....I am working right now full time but I plan to not work at all once I start the program...my husband took a second job so that I dont have to worry (love him). I am very excited to start yet nervous out of my mind. Did you already take microbiology yet ?
I did take micro awhile back and at this point glad I did. One less thing to do in the program too. I'm looking forward to attending the pre-admission session and receiving all of the information we need prior to starting the program, i.e. book list, medical and background clearances, fingerprinting, etc. I'm sure we'll leave the meet with tons of info...

so happy for you!
I recognize your screen name. I remember about our posts about BC.
I am very excited for you, you are on your way to an exciting journey. Best advice, is to get that book sanders comprehensive review for nclex-rn
And after that, just study study and study, read everything, and never look too deep into the questions, or think about scenarios in your head about what could be there.
I wish you the very best of luck in your journey to become an RN!

congrats to you!
just wanted to put a little info here. If you are able not to work during school, then do that. There are tons of reading, and studying that it's so hard to manage life & school.
I worked per diem, so I only worked 8hr every 2weeks so it didn't feel like work.
Thanks Bumblebee!
Yep, that's what I keep hearing so I'm going to follow everyone's advice. Kinda strange after having been steadily employed for approx. twenty years and suddenly having no employment. I'm just going to go into the program with the attitude (and same work ethic) as if being a nursing student IS a job...
Looking forward to May!
thank you bumblebeern.....let me ask you guys something how bad is that i didnt take microbiology yet...i think we get 1/2 of the summer next year off you think i can take it then or after the program is done ?
I think (and I'm not the authority, lol) but probably the sooner you take micro the better, as (I'm guessing) it may help in understanding/recognizing how infections occur and spread, which bacteria/viruses cause which infections or diseases, resistance, the importance of sterilization, etc. There are probably many whom have taken it late in the program and did just fine.

Congrats to those who got accepted! :yelclap: I too got accepted into the May 2010 class. I'm trying to get a heads up on the books and/or supplies that we need. I'm thinking about taking the program online. I work 32 hours from Thurs-Sun 11pm-7am. I'll have to make up my mind when I get to the pre-admission/orientation. Wish you guys luck throughout the program. Study hard!!!
JTweety,
Congratulations to you too!!! I'm very happy to be starting the program in May--Cannot wait! I've been reading the fundamentals book a little, but not as much as I'd like--I'm only on the 3rd chapter. Time to get more serious this week with the program so quickly approaching.
Up until this point I had not consider the on-line program, though I suppose I should find out more about it before throwing it to the wind. Hopefully they will address all of details at the pre-admission session on the 4th.
Best wishes to you!

I thought I heard that you can only take the online program in the Fall ... they don't offer it in May.
I could be wrong, though.
