Broward College January 2011

Published

New thread started for all those applying for / accepted to / attending Broward College January 2011. Chime in, let us know how you're doing!

I have not received anything yet...I told myself I would not panic until Sep 1st! Has anyone heard anything about it as far as an approximate date for the orientation?

Hey!! Does anyone know if once you start the Nursing program if you can transfer to another school/RN program after the first semester?

I haven't gotten any emails yet either. Mildly freaking out at this point!

hey guys, i just called the nursing admissions office and they said that we should be receiving and email around september 15th about the pre-admissions meeting...

Thank you! I tried calling and of course could reach no one. So I emailed them about it. Most likely will get a different answer...good ol' BC.

My application still says ''in review'', and I keep checking every day to see if it'll say ''pre-admission'' or whatever it says at first; but I suspect I won't hear until...what, about 30 days after the deadline of Sep 15. Lol.

what campus did you all apply to?? I will be applying in Jan and keep getting people telling me diff stories. Oh central is better, oh North is better ...

When I applied I applied in general, I don't think I had an option to pick a campus. Once you register, you at that point pick your classes at the campus of your choice.

It will probably stay that way until after the deadline. I applied for May and got denied and everyone was pending until 30 days after the deadline so don't panic! They don't review any apps until after the September 15th deadline. What happened for fall was a crazy mess because of the hesi, but it seems that they have things under control now.

Conflicting info everywhere , Some students tell me that at North you basically get placed in the classes. Also i've been told when you apply you pick the campus.

How far along are you? and which campus did you end up with?

Specializes in ED.

You don't pick your campus until registration day. The only time you have to specify anything is when you are applying specifically for the online program. Then you are applying to central and you have to mark your application that it's for online. Other than that, it does NOT matter where you turn your application in at, you will all attend a program orientation @ central together and you will be given info for registration. They will open up the classes at 8am on the day of registration and its first come, first served. North usually has the most spots of the 3 campuses, so anyone wanting south or central need to be a little faster with registering.

Yadi, what do you mean at north you are put into classes? I'm at north and have always registered myself for classes.

I had a classmate last semester who knew some1 in the program. She said that your schedule is already made when you get in and you don't get to pick proffesors. I found it stranger but since she said it was a friend in the program who said this I was like ok.

how do you like North??? i'm currently there now taking ap2 + lab :D
