I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
I dunno if that's true. Because why would they want us to have the Microbio before applying then? thought that was for new pre-reqs.
Even if that is true I got an A- in Chemistry. still doesnt explain why gpa points is 6 out of 16.
anyone else mind sharing their score?
supposedly from another thread 6pts is around 3.2 hmm..
I have a 4.0 prereq GPA, they gave me 16 points. Even though they're not using points anymore they may have made an error with your prereq GPA if it shows just 6 points. You should go to health science admissions on campus and check it out just to be safe...
They are using points as per the website:
For January and May 2013 applicants:
selection for admission is based on students with the highest HESI scores, HCP0001, and highest pre-requisite GPA. HESI cut scores are: reading 85%; vocabulary 80%; grammar 80%; math 80%; anatomy & physiology 80%.
The pre-req classes are: English101, Anatomy 1 & 2 with labs, and Chemistry
If there is a tie they will use the rest of your grades for the AS program such as Micro, Humanities, etc....
This is the last class with the old pre-reqs starting in the next application window, everyone will have to have an SLS class, General Math, and Micro with lab.
Which will include anyone that does not get in for May.
Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

If that was your GPA and you only got 6 points then I would be raising hell down at the school. I got a 3.60 in my prereqs and received 11 points for my GPA.
