Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

Yes I got the hep b because my immunity was low, they have it for $50 I think but I got mines done at the health department for $39, I had to also take the MMR again because of low immunity.

$39, That's a really good price for the Hep shot. One place told me $90 for one shot! Is that the Broward college health department?

Another thing checked off:) I only have to do the physical and immunizations! Does anyone know a good place to get them done? Looking around for good prices.

Doctors 365 it's in Plantation. I paid $224 for physical, tb test, and titers. Actually here now for tb recheck.

No I got it palm beach county Heath care district but my friend got it at Broward county health care district for the same price!

LPNs have MORE clinical days??? That doesn't sound right. We have Tuesday and Wednesday while generic only has Wednesdays????

How long is your program? If it is shorter than our program then that's probably why.

15 months but even still we do 7 hundred something hours and generics have over 1000. Doesn't add up. :/

Hmm. Then I guess it's only South that has just Wednesdays.

Make sure when you do your tb test it is a 2 step test. You must get tested, go back 2 days later for a recheck, go back a week later for retest, then go back 2 days after that for recheck again. Make sure you do it early enough.

You may want to check with your campus, but south requires this. I called the office to double check.
