I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
So is BC still looking at Broward residency and Hosa? Because they made it sound like for January and May applicants, they're only looking at highest prereq GPA and highest Hesi, but people on here have said they got points for both those things...just thought it was confusing.
On my points page it says HOSA has a 5 point value, but seeing as how I am from Alabama and 32 I obviously didn't have that checked off so it is a big goose egg for me.
I had to do the new requirements including micro which is very hard but got an A. I agree that if you read the other groups it does start with the oh only 100 or only north, but then other campuses open up. From my experience one campus does not know what is going on with the other and vice versa. Each campus also has different books too.
Breathe, try to stay distracted this week because I doubt we'll hear anything until next week, and hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Well said! Everyone here has worked very hard to get here and focusing on the negative factors during this extremely stressful time probably won't help. Good Lord just think, if we all get in and we can support each other like this here..how far can we go together later?
Food for thought....
Someone tell a joke...
Does anyone know if we are required to have health insurance while in the program?Other question: are any of you applying or have applied for financial aid. How does it work?
It might be best to go see someone in the Financial Aid office, they'll be able to answer all of your questions. I just applied online, turned in the forms they asked for, and was awarded aid.
Not sure about the health insurance.

Wow. Well, hopefully not too many people applied for May so that we all can get in. I have heard that the summer term usually gets less applicants. Guess we'll find out soon enough...
