I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!
I'm hoping south has the program this summer as it would be closer, but will travel to the other campus(es) I they don't. For me its about getting into the program and starting. As for the RN to BSN, I've thought about it and looked into a few schools, but will cross that bridge when I get there.
Mine is in review as well. How many points did everyone else get? Because it says I only have 6.0 however I got As in Anatamy 1 & 2 and both labs. got C in english due to professor not likeing my interpretation of the stories, and an A in college algebra. seems a little low.
This will be the last class to be considered based on the old pre-reqs., so only A&P 1 and 2, CHM 1032, and ENC 1101 are factored into your GPA and points awarded. The points are awarded based on GPA using this scale: 4.0 = 16pts, 3.9 = 15pts, 3.8 = 14pts, 3.7 = 13pts, 3.6 = 12pts, 3.5 = 11pts, 3.4 = 10pts, 3.3 = 9pts, 3.2 = 8pts, 3.1 = 7pts, 3.0 = 6pts....Plus...If you live in Broward County you get an additional (1) point. You round down to figure your points. So if you have a 3.57 (which it sounds like you do) you should have 11 points and then 1 more if you are a Broward resident.

I have been looking for that breakdown for MONTHS! Thanks for the information.
When I dropped off my application I was told to start checking my email starting on February 1st though they did say that was the absolute earliest I would know. Hopefully everyone here gets in.[/quote']Awesome news....welcome! I'm still going to impatiently hit refresh on my application status during working hours all week. It's been an addiction, I'm ashamed.

I realize I am getting ahead of myself, but has anyone given any thought about, or looked into, a RN to MSN program? I am thinking of working to FAU's program and knocking the Nurse Practitioner program out asap.
