Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)

So the fundamentals book we need for south is 8th Ed? Cause in the book list I got from the nursing depart it said 7th Ed needed..

Where at the nursing dept, did you get the book list? Im going there monday to turn in my forms.

Does anyone know how to request more money for a loan? The amount the school wants to award me is not even close enough for all the classes .I did a scholarship application but have not heard anything back.

If you want more than the $4500 offered you have to apply for an unsubsidized loan, which means the interests must be pd while you're in school( you might be able to defer interest payments, I'm not sure). The form is online on BC's site, then drop it off at fin aid.

Also if you're a broward resident check with workforce1 to see if you qualify and have enough time to apply for a WIA grant. Miami dade also has s program but I don't know much about it.

I am a part of the WIA program...I know the ins and outs if anyone is interested...but it is too much for me to write at the moment. Private message me a way to get in contact with you if you're interested.

I went to the bookstore at South to at least buy the orientation packet and size the scrubs. They still have to orientation packets from last group out and the person at the check out counter told me that the department had not gotten them a booklist yet. She said to check back the first week of august. The scrubs run huge I'm 135lbs and usually wear med but the sml even seemed big and long for me. I guess they should be loose though.
