Broward College August 2012

Hi! This is a thread for anyone applying for August 2012 class at Broward College for the generic nursing track. I deferred my seat so I will be starting in August. I haven't decided if I want to go to central or south yet.. I'm super excited about starting in August! If I could help anyone with anything feel free to ask! :)

Remember that if students defer their seat for august then more people will be accepted. So just wait and see

I am really confused. I thought that I would get accepted. My HESI is 91.2%, 3.36 GPA and 9 Points. My status says "not accepted-seat avail". I just don't understand.

I called no one is accepted yet. They just started changing statuses yesterday. To not accepted :(. Thats what I was told when I called.

What do they mean by no one is accepted yet. So how can they send out "not accepted-seat avail" status changes when they don't even know how many students were accepted.

I am really confused right now. How are they not letting people in with a 3.3 gpa ????? And if they did not make decisions yet why are people receiving "not accepted" ????

I am assuming they already know who are accepted but they just havent change their status yet. They are probably starting from the least amount of points up. This semester is a tough one because of what BC did to the May accepted students, this is what went down. When we applied in for May most/all of us applied with the intention of going to North Campus because thats was the only campus taking students in May, after we were accepted they told us that North will not be taking students for May anymore only south and central. Since most of us lived closer to North or because of personal preferences we had no choice but to defer. I think it was 160 something that was accepted out of 300 and more than 60% of which were accepted deferred their seat because of this. So it makes the space for new applicant smaller. In May they told us everyone that was accepted had a gpa over 3.0 which is equivalent to 7pts. But again i guess this term its harder because of the deferrment. Do not give up just like in May many might defer their seat for different reasons, so do not give up hope. They are not finish as yet so keep checking. This is just my little 2cents.

They didnt want to give me much info when i called just that they arw working on it and sone status already change, but none had change to accepted and they will be sending out emails soon.

I understand the situation with the deferred seats. In fact, I was expecting it, just hoping for the best. My problem now is that I won't even be able to apply for Jan. term since they have new requirements which I have not done yet. They should've told us about them earlier and I could've been doing them during the summer...
