Hi guys, is anyone else working towards starting the nursing program at BC in August 2011? I am working on my last pre-reqs this semester (spring 11) and then apply and hopefully get accepted for the fall semester. I just took and passed the hesi exam last night and that is one big load off my back. I also started my hep shots since it takes 3 rounds of shots and a total of 6 months to be fully immunized. I want to have all of my ducks in order to start the program. I am undecided whether to go to south or central campus. Any advice?
I have a question...for the points of your gpa to get into the program...do they do Cum GPA, or GPA just the classes like Enc1101, chm, ap 1 and 2?
I don't know exactly what they go by. Do your best to get A's and B's for your science courses and a good HESI score. It is so competitive, make sure your GPA is 3.0 or above and your hesi score above 80. Good Luck!!!:)
how much are those books? I believe BC has a program where you pay $1500 and they give you all the books you need for the program. You're ahead of the game, good for you:yeah::yeah:
Wow that is so much $$!! I bought 4 new books on Amazon and spent $130. The only thing I am going to buy in the bookstore is the Perry Potter combo. It is around the same price on the net. I am only getting the books I need for the first semester right now. It is a total of 8 books.

Lippincott - Fluid & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy
Newfield - Cox Clinical Applications of Nursing Diagnosis
Taber - Taber's Cyclopedia Medical Dictionary
These are the ones I am missing:
Deglin - Davis Drug Guide for Nurses
Jarvis - Pocket Companion for Physical Examination
Perry Potter - Fundamentals of Nursing with Study Guide, Clinical Companion and ebook
Perry Potter - Clical Nursing Skills & Techniques

Be careful who you take classes from, if i remember correctly during the nursing information session the lady said it has to be someone that's approved by the nursing board or the red cross. I did mine through nursing unlimited and my employer paid for it.
