Published

Hello!!! Just wondering if anyone else has applied for August 2010 yet? :)

Okay! Thanks for letting me know.

pre admission... waiting on email!

Hi everyone! New to this site, thou I have been reading it all summer. I was wondering, does anybody know if we get a Christmas break or any type of summer break?? I'm trying to schedule my wedding in Key West and I want to do it over a summer break... so I can relax before and after!! Do we have breaks or do we go straight through for the 18 mos??

Specializes in ED.

You are off on the same days as the rest of the college. As for summer, you will have the second half of your first summer off. If you start in Aug, that means next summer, you will go the first 6 weeks (May until June) and then have off until fall semester begins again in Aug. You will be done the following May, so you will have that summer off anyway :)

Soo.. my app still says in review. I called Central campus and she said it should say Pre Admission since I have all my scores. But she cant change it herself:uhoh3:.. If it isnt changed by Mon. I will be there bright and early.

I just got an email. I was accepted for the January 2011!!! All seats for fall are taken.

WOW!! Congrats.

Oh no.. I wonder what happens to me now:sniff: My status never changed. And I already recieved the bad email. Thry're not even open tomorrow.

What bad email?? The email I got today states that I was offered a seat for January 2011, and that they are going to have an orientation sometime in August so that we can accept our seat.

My application never got changed from in review to pre admission.. I just turned in my new HESI scores today. But this was the email I got..

Dear Nursing Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in the Associate in Science Nursing Program at Broward College. The August 2010 RN class is seated. 595 candidates applied for admission to fill 252 seats. Broward College is committed to serving as many qualified students as possible. However, meeting the criteria for selection does not guarantee admission to the Nursing program as seats are limited.

Admission to the limited access nursing program was determined by earning the most points by weight taking into consideration all the required admission requirements and space availability. The admission requirements are:

1. Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) in the 14 credit hours of prerequisite courses.

2. Overall Cumulative Degree GPA minimum of 2.0.

3. Completion of the 5 tests in the HESI: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar Composite, Basic Math and Anatomy-Physiology.

The college is now accepting applications for admission consideration for the January 2011 nursing program through September 15, 2010. Admission decisions for the January class will be made 30 days following the close of the application period.

Thank you for your patience and thank you choosing Broward College.
