Broward August 2015

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, but I've seen other threads for other semesters for Broward College. I didn't find one for August 2015. I figured this would be a good place to share each other's excitement to (HOPEFULLY!) start the program in August. Let's all support each other on this journey! :)

Financial aid will not cover Nursing until you have been accepted into the program.

Application in review for me as well....Hey is it true that Financial aid does not cover the Nursing program? i was looking in MyBC under financial aid and thats what it says. is anyone else getting that?

Not to discourage you or anything but HESI testing is always open. I think the end of the month is when everyone who has applied will found out if they got in. I'm not sure how accurate this is but I was told they stop taking applications for fall on the 15th.

The HESI is open till the end of the month....from what I saw when I went to reschedule my test. I'm taking it finally on Wednesday. I haven't been able to apply. I'm assuming that they are going to start by the end of the month if they have the testing open for that long.

The end of the month?! That's so far away!!! Oh well, THANK YOU for letting us know though! At least now we know what to expect.

Hey! Has anyone gotten an acceptance letter yet??? Im still waiting :(

Hey! I haven't heard of anyone being accepted yet. We're all still waiting. No worries, that just means we're all suffering together. LOL. We'll all be celebrating soon enough. :)

I think the last week of June is more than likely when they will get sent out, hopefully we will know before July.

what's a good score for the HESI? I think you need at least a 75 but what's a good score? 100?

I think 100 is the highest possible. I was told that as long as you make the 75, they usually don't even look at the scores unless there is a tie and they use it as a tiebreaker. The go primarily by the GPA. :)

Well I'm taking my rescheduled exam tomorrow. I was told that they are still taking applications so that's not too accurate. I guess I know because I was stuck in the situation of the HESI being down. I will know for sure tomorrow once I pass this thing and go apply. But they told me over the phone they were still taking applications. If not I wouldn't bother taking the HESI again if it wasn't for the fall semester.

I'm happy for you that you can take it and hand it in and have a chance for fall but I'm getting frustrated. I just want to know already. My summer class ends on monday and I'd just like to start getting ready for the fall not be a ball of anxiety still.

I think even if they don't have enough applicants, BC should accept students anyways so they don't keep the ones who have applied 2-3 months before waiting for too long. Miami Dade sends their acceptance letter in batches and I think Broward College should do the same. However, there are a lot of people that didn't get to apply because I saw someone studying for HESI today and she wants to go in for August. I also looked at the HESI schedule and everyday up until the 25th is full so I'm guessing BC will also be waiting for those students.

Hello THere! I really hope that I get in for fall 2015, i am really am at my wits ends, i had a bumpy road , i had paid for the hcp0001 not knowing it was no longer required, then i went through hoops just to get refunded for the course, i took the Hesi anatomy 3 times, on the 3rd attempt i finally passed and got an 84%, i got 88% in reading comprehension, 86% in grammar, 88% in vocab and an 82% in math., i got straight b's and A's in pre -requisites, just worried this would be my second rodeo, i went to to Florida career colleges nursing program which is unaccredited by the board of nursing and quite frankly their school of nursing is a joke, BC refused to accept any of my nursing credits from FCC, does anyone know if i would be disqualified because i was in another nursing program before at an unaccredited institution? p.s i hope we all get in for the Fall (keeping my fingers crossed :)

I called and spoke to someone at central i was told they accept 90 students per campus. it says open ended until all seats are full so i guess their are quite a bit of seats of left, my hunch is this, they get at least 400 applications, and then they choose the top Gpa's top Hesi scores and so forth, so it doesn't matter when an application was submitted, even if someone met the bare minimum they are selecting based on the applicant pool for thatterm
