Hey Guys! Thought I'd start a forum for those applying for Spring 2019 of the
Brookhaven nursing program. I still have to do the Critical Thinking exam, dosage calc class, Hesi! Can't wait to talk to you guys as we apply!!
Ok so I went over to the nursing department in the X building. When I asked about getting no email, they literally said, "yeah you're not supposed get an email for an interview if you're in the dual enrollment with tech."Then I said, "Oh so I'll just get an acceptance or rejection email after all of the interviews are done?"
Then she said, "No, you will get an acceptance email which You can accept or decline."
She also said, "And if you don't take your acceptance, I'll come after you." Lol
So I quess we're in!
OMG that's awesome, that's really good news!!!! Thanks for letting me know! Look forward to you there!
I have 36.6. How many did you guys with the dual enrollment have? Just curious. If I do not get accepted this round it might be a good idea to look into the dual enrollment program.
I applied with 39.3 points
I think even if you do get accepted without the dual enrollment, you should still do it because most hospitals require a BSN now. But I hope you get in, practice for the interview and you will be fine!

How hard are the two classes? Would it be something I could do while I'm in the program if I get accepted? I will not be working, my boyfriend is supporting me financially so I can be a full time student and mommy! lol

The classes are fairly doable, consisting of weekly discussions and 10 multiple choice questions quiz on the chapters and some 1 page papers due every two weeks. It is something you can do while you are in the program and I don't think it should be too difficult to incorporate into your schedule. I know you are playing many roles as a mother, student and so forth but I believe you can do it!
hey guys, current nursing student at Brookhaven, finishing up my first semester. If any of you guys have questions feel free to email me [email protected]. We like to help applicants to the upcoming semester just as we had when we were applying. I know you are all nervous and excited. or if you were like me, about to throw up from the overload of anxiety daily LOL! but I'm here if you need an insider who has been through the application process and into the interviews and acceptance rounds. Feel free to contact me! -Emily E.
the best thing you can do to study for the critical thinking exam is to take practice NCLEX questions. That is how each question on it is formatted. Try nurselabs.com they have a huge bank of NCLEX questions. Or try googling NCLEX critical thinking practice questions. Dr. Meyer (dean of the program at Brookhaven) says that if you get a 7.5 or higher you have done just fine. most people score between a 7 and a 9
