Brookhaven Nursing Fall 2015

Published

Hi!

I can't seem to locate a thread regarding applicants for Brookhaven's fall 2015 nursing program... so I wanted to start one! If there is another, please redirect me- thanks!

I plan to apply in February for acceptance to Brookhaven's fall 2015 class. I am working on my dosage calculations course by 2/20 (cutting it close!) and that is all I have left! It looks like they changed the point scoring system since just a few months ago- did anyone see that? I am always looking for guidance and support in this process, so, I am hoping this thread can provide that for me and everyone else involved!

I look forward to virtually meeting other BH fall '15 applicants!

I believe that the people who won't make it will be listed as alternates! many students withdraw before the nursing class day starts and that is when they contact the alternates. I was an alternate and I emailed her, told me I was second to the the alternates. One student withdraw so the first alternate was offered a spot.

YAY! Just got my email, I got an interview too!! Sooooo happy :)

Yes! Congrats!!!!

OMG OMG OMG I got an interview!!!!!!!!!! :)

WOOO!!! Congrats!!!

yay! me too!lol

Congrats!!!

I got an interview!! I am curious too how many they interview and how many they accept..Does anyone know how many points are possible with the essay and interview?? Looking it up now.

Congrats!!! I believe the interview is worth up to 15 points. And I believe they interview 70 and accept 60.

Yay for everyone! I got the interview invite also!!!

Yes!!! Congrats!!!!!!

Got mine as well! Here we Go!!!!

Hey everyone! :) I got my interview as well! How's everyone getting ready for it? I'm sooo nervous! I've no idea what to expect :(

Anybody find any good sites with "nursing interview questions" and the like on it? I found a bunch of good information on the previous semester's allnurses forums for brookhaven.

If it is like last fall, the questions will be like: Tell me a time you had to go out of your way for a patient, tell me a time you had a conflict and resolved it, why have you decided to be a nurse, what does nursing mean to you?

Honestly, the best thing to do is just answer from your heart. For the ones that have no medical experience just use life experiences as reference. We all have those. Just start writing down a few times that you overcame a challenge, rose above the occasion, or had to do something you really did not want to do. The panel was very understanding, even laughed with us a few times. Other than that, dress nice and be on time. This is nothing that any of you cannot handle. You will ALL do great!!!

I got an interview as well!!!!

Does anyone know what the writing topics might be about?
