Brookhaven College Spring 2015 Applicants

Hi everyone, I am applying too for Spring 2015. I was denied last application so hopefully this time I will get in. I am finished in all of my pre requisites and my Hesi is 86 so I am still thinking to retake it or not.

I haven't ordered my book yet I figured id get it a month before and go over all of it. I'm really bad in math but I heard its testing your basics . I also am going to start my dosage calculation when I finish my summer courses. I hope we all get in it's taken a lot of hard work for all of us!! How many points did you have last semester ?

I like the fact that there was no "expiration" date on the sciences. I won't admit hqow long I have been trying to become an RN. I will reveal after I am accepted into Brookhaven :) lol.

I made an A in my anatomy my only worry is math on the hesi what does it consist of?

The math is almost exactly the same as what is covered in the HESI practice book. Definitely know basic conversions too. I only missed 1 question in math the first time I took it and 2 questions the second time. Also study your vocabulary I'm the book. It can be a little tricky as well. A&P was my worst score (78) but overall I scored 91.6 so I'm ok with that. Good luck.

So I took the Dosage Calculations and made 78.....,.arrrrghhhh. 100 questions!!!!. Will make a second and definitely the last attempt sometime soon. Who else has taken the DC? How did you do? A bit shaken that the DC might just set me back.

I am in the process of taking it. I started it in early May and I do it when I have time. Hopefully there isn't a time limit for it. Good luck next time around though. Study, study, study!

Everyone that took the Hesi how was the reading & comp and grammer? I thought it would be easy, but its not. Im using the Hesi book, and a GED book, im scoring like 70`s and 80`s in those areas. Any suggestions?

Everything is pretty much straight from the HESI book as far as the grammar goes in my opinion. The reading can be a little tricky on some questions just don't be one of those that skims through the reading passage and goes straight to the questions.

Im really freaking out about this A&P section of the HESI. I dont know if im studying the right or wrong info. One of my co-workers said just read the HESI book. But then I jeard the HESI book is an ok source, but it really doesnt help much. Im taking the test in 23 days!!! Im so nervous!!!

Hi all! I'm applying for Spring '15 admission too. I haven't taken the HESI yet. Anyone know if you take it elsewhere, how long it takes to get the scores sent over from Elsevier? What about registering for it at BH? I'm scared I'm going to miss out on taking it in time!

I just received my Calculate with Confidence 5e. I got off Ebay for the cheap :) I am going to use this book to help me with the Drug Dosage Module. I read that the book "recommended" was not needed. And this one has gotten rave reviews on here. Plus, I need to take Pharmacology, so this will help. I plan to purchase the book that accompanies this one. It has a CD with it, which I like. I think it may be a workbook.

How is everyone doing?

Has anyone else taken the dosage calculation yet? What did you make? I had my second attempt a few days ago and made 89!!!!! Can you believe that? The most frustrating thing is that I don,t know what I,m doing wrong because there is no feedback. I am so frustrated right now cos I have everything else with 30 points except this DC and don't want to think it could possibly set be back.
