Brookhaven College Nursing Program Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone, I haven't seen any thread about BHC Fall '14 so I made one! I am applying this February at Brookhaven community college for Fall 2014. I took Hesi last year for trial and I will be taking the Hesi for real again this February and I have been studying really hard this Winter break! Goodluck everyone, if I do not get accepted I have plan B which to go ahead and try to apply in UTA.

Almost finished in all precourses needed just Micro and death dying this Spring but they are not counted this application so I am hoping to do well in Hesi!

I may be jumping the gun haha but I just made a Facebook page for the class starting in the fall. Feel free to join if you'd like so we can keep each other informed once the semester starts:)

Just sent my request! :) Hopefully they email us soon with all the information!

I called Nancy a while back about the dates for Success Camp. They were not set yet but she indicated it would be during the week of August 18th. Everyone enjoy your summer! :)

Does anyone know anything about the books we will need for the fall?

Thanks for making the page. I haven't logged on to the forum in a while but I would love to get to know everyone before August. I can not wait to start this adventure with you all.

Just to let everyone know, I just spoke with Barb at Brookhaven. She informed me that we should be receiving more information later this week or possibly next. She told me that classes will be assigned to us and we will get book information. Just thought I would share the info. :)

Great! Thanks for letting us know:) hopefully I'll be able to figure out a work schedule with minimal hrs for the fall. Anyone else working while in the program??

I will be! That is one reason I really need to know what is going on for the semester. I normally work 7am-3pm but I am guessing I'll have to do 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7am.

Thanks for the information jenbunny12. I'm currently working but my job's hours will not allow me to continue after the program starts. If anyone has a lead on a part time job please pass the information to me.

Thank god my job is flexible! I'm most concerned about clinical hours...class hours are set so I would think those are easy to schedule around...not sure about clinicals though??

I'm hoping that the hours posted for the labs, clinical, and foundation are accurate. If so, I can be on the schedule for at least 2 days a week. I wouldn't want many more hours than that. I read online that about the lottery process for choosing clinical hospitals and it's pretty much a draw in the hat. Although I think it's once a week from 7am-7pm.
