This is a forum is for anyone applying to Brookhaven college ADN program for Fall 2017.What tips can you offer? Any challenges? How was the dosage calculation exam? Any tips for the critical thinking exam and the interview? How many points are you applying with?

Me too! Good luck to you! :)

Hey everyone, I interview on April 5th at 8am. Good luck!

We will interview together Johanna!

Hi, so this is kinda directed to all of those who applied for this application pool. If you got an interview, how many points did you apply with?

I had 31.5 but couldn't apply as my Titer came back negative even after the proper vaccines. I'll be applying for next spring but I wanted to roughly gauge were I'd stand.

thanks y'all!!

Does anyone know what the interview questions and essay topic are? I get super nervous during interviews. I plan on making an appointment for a mock interview but knowing what they ask would help a lot too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :)

You have to schedule the mock interview with the career services center. You can bring a notepad to make notes too.

Do you remember what the interview questions and essay topic are? I get super nervous during interviews. I plan on making an appointment for a mock interview but knowing what they ask would help a lot too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I get so anxious and nervous my mind goes blank.

Hi y'all - I was just wondering of those who got in, how many points did you apply with.

Not sure how I missed the notification for this response but interview questions are your standard questions. If you do the mock interview, I will almost guarantee that you'll hear those exact same questions in the actual interview itself.

As far as the writing sample goes it's something like name three qualities that you think a nurse should possess or tell me about a time when you faced a challenge and how you overcame it. Very general stuff.

I would also suggest spreading the word to your interview groups about this forum because you can all help and encourage each other throughout the journey. And once accepted, create a Facebook group and add some current or previous students that can help you with questions about the actual program, this kinda stuff helps a ton especially in the beginning as it can be an exciting but overwhelming time.

Hello everyone! I have an interview on the 7th at 11:00!! I am beyond excited for this opportunity but also very nervous about the interview as well! I went to the Brookhaven career center for a mock interview today and it was extremely helpful. Highly recommend it for the rest of you guys who are also just as worried and anxious. They ask why do you want to be a nurse, how would you define a nurse, behavioral scenario questions etc. The advisor will answer all your questions and give a lot of important pointers of what is to be expected and what not to do. ;) I'd say get your mock interview appointment in and be creative. Our answers need to be concise and original in order to define who we are and what makes us stand out from everyone else! Take care and we will all do great!!

Thank you so much! I went to the mock interview and that helped a lot. Now I just need to practice my responses aloud so I don't freeze up when they ask.
