I have been an RN for 15 years licensed in 4 states, been in TX last 4 years. I was dishonest during covid and could not find a hands on BLS. The nursing board was alerted and I was given a warning with stipulations. Since then I have had my car repossessed evicted and lost almost everything due to finding a job. The stipulation is for 12 64 hours a month reporting of working in a hospital but I can not find a hospital nor emergency care that will hire me. Please I need guidance should I just give up change careers? Thank you
I admit I am humbled and I have never had a blemish until 2020.
thank you so much for your help.
RN217isbroken said:I'm fine! I was deceptive and I should have handled myself better. As for Covid 2020-2021 BLS hands on portion not a class available AT ALL it was the thick of it 11/2020 in fact waivers were given out for perm staff.
hey we are all asked one time or another to chart a system or check a box deceptive charting pays the bills right, like speeding I was caught and I own it100%.
My MOST disheartening part I've tried to explain is sponsors help reps to help nurses like me caught at a moment of weakness and counseled. I mean even the nurses who struggle with addiction or have dui get assistance. It's difficult when not one facility will even look at your resume with probation warning stipulations and 15 years perfect record before hand. Those are my 2 huge issues I wish would change.
I'm accountable I have been from start I'm humbled I'm willing to work my way up start. With second chance everything but system won't allow it. So I was evicted, my family and I are in a hotel I've lost everything. Now I'm facing minimum wage 33 application 14 days trips phone calls to HR interviews with upfront explanations, pleading for a new start. Not one offer... sad I worked my way into this but I have something left and will keep going in my hope of finding peace.

Don't be shy to message me if you need $$ for groceries or tickets to fly to Oregon.
Hello!
I found your post via search. I am currently in the same situation as you. Male ICU RN, 37, slapped with a stip on sept, 2023 (for giving 2mg morphine to my pt without NP order) and been searching for work since then. Been living out of my car, broke and depressed but still fighting hard. I live in Dallas, TX. My stipulation is simply to work for 64 hrs/month for 1 yr. No other restrictions or supervisions whatsoever, yet, it has been nearly impossible to find work. I got lucky last year to find a job via a private connection in Austin at a Hospice facility. I worked for 3 mnths but had to leave due to toxic work environment - to protect my already hit license. This has destroyed me financially.
I have been looking for work in home care, psych, hospice etc in Dallas and Houston area but no luck yet. I am trying to find/attend job fares now to speak directly with managers. I am exploring all my options. Please do not despair. I sent you a PM. Please, anybody, please, share ideas and info that can get us out of this rot.
God bless you

Have you tried a more rural area? You might have to drive a bit to sustain work. Some nurses I know drive 2 hours to work and stay in their camper for 3 12 hour shifts. This is in SNF's. Between Houston and Dallas. They are always hiring and some rarely have applicants.

Not happen with patient care, I was not on contract I was applying, but agreed deceptive behavior is deceptive.
consider my spotless 16 years 5 states veteran history and motivation of a once in a lifetime pandemic I thought we all needed a little leniency tbh.. but no hands online was available I'm well versed in completing it as a seasoned traveler.
Online shopping was just taking off with Amazon we forget that... now I was on contract I was not eligible for waiver I came here to help and found myself without help when I was weak.
just sayin...
👍🏼🙌🏼but agreed with your point!
