Hi all,

I wanted to create this thread for students applying to BCC's program for Fall 2022. Please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, etc. 

As a student expecting to graduate from the program this Summer feel free to reach out with any questions and I will do my best to answer them or refer you to the proper channels ?

Now I’m awake when I should be asleep because I’m worrying about BCC’s tattoo policy. I have three on my forearm, and what I thought would be okay, meaning, long sleeve shirt underneath scrubs, doesn’t seem to cut it per BCC’s handbook. Only short sleeves underneath scrubs. Now I’m googling tattoo removals and waterproof make up to potentially hide them. Ugh why didn’t I think of this sooner.

The policy says “No visible tattoos per agency protocol.” I’m not sure if this is a clinical thing, where they decide this per hospital? Or if that means I’m ineligible for the program now. Cursing myself now, because if I get in and have to decline for something like this I don’t know how I’ll forgive myself.

I know a few people that have tattoos that go there and wear under scrubs. I think you’ll be fine just don’t tell them until it’s time for you to expose them LOL. I think they will just let it go and let you wear a long sleeve. otherwise, dermablend is good for covering up LOL you’ll be OK.

Googling “dermablend” now, you are a life saver LOL then I can hopefully relax and sleep soundly. Thank you. I know it’s dumb to worry about, but your mind blows things up usually at the worst times. Ughhhhh LOL

it’s kind of expensive for a bottle but not more expensive than another school LOL. get some rest everything will be fine! I did this all last night with simply getting in LOL

I can definitely relate to that last part too LOL but I think I’ve pretty much made peace with the fact that I gave it my all and hopefully it works out. The tattoo thing is definitely something I should have put more thought into, though.
