Bristol Community College Fall 2014

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hi! I'm applying to BCC for fall 2014 and am looking to see if there is anyone else out there doing the same. My application is in and I am taking the TEAS test this weekend - so nervous! Don't know what to expect. Any insight?

Really?? OMG that means they are making progress!!! :) I wonder how long it usually takes them once they actually start reviewing the potentials.. But that makes me excited! Isn't it crazy how something that really isn't that far away can seem like its forever!? btw I'm sorry to hear about the people in your class, I would be so bummed out! Luckily my GPA is good and all my pre-reqs are done and almost all my other general courses as well, so thats two things on my side! No one on here got the letter right? That means we are all one step closer!!!

I'm dying!! The anticipation may actually kill me! Lol

ME TOOOO!! LOL It made me more excited but at the same time MORE IMPATIENT AND ANXIOUS!!!!

I feel like I need anxiety meds!!!! lol I'm praying I don't get on the wait list again. I am very nervous. :(

I hope I don't get on the waiting list again either, that was the worst in a way, because I was close, but not close enough.. Keeping fingers crossed for all of us.. I'm so glad I joined this, because nobody knows the anxiety like you guys do :)

If you guys don't mind me asking, do you think you were put on the wait list due to your GPA or not enough classes completed or both? If you don't want to answer I totally respect that I am just wondering because this is my first year applying and like I said before I don't personally know anyone thats going through the same process as me or anything so I like having people to talk to about it and learn as much info as I possibly can. =)

I was put on the wait list because of GPA. Bcc looks at overall gpa, which for me is a total of over 96 credits. I was 17 when I started college and I was too young and immature and didn't care about grades hence that brings down my overall. I have taken all of the general courses and then some. As long as you guys have that high overall GPA, get over a 50 on the teas v and have all of the required classes...you're good.

I even had some 2nd year nursing students in my into to micro class, so we don't have to have all of the general classes done, just the required ones. I know my overall GPA isn't great so I'll at least love to get wait listed...it's better than nothing. To all of you with wonderful gpas, do not worry. You guys are in. Good luck all. Fingers crossed

It was my GPA that is why I took two more classes last semester that I had already taken to get a better grade, I had a meeting with the dean, and she told me to do that.. I have all my classes done.

Okay good to know thanks for sharing! I thought I was in really great shape because of my GPA and all requirements met and then I found this forum and read through last years posts and came across the point system they use. I didn't have to take chemistry in college because I got a B in high school in it so I was told it was fine, little did I know that the chemistry grade is part of the points system average. So after seeing that I got extremely nervous and have been worrying ever since. I made the decision to not go to college after high school and "wait". I get bummed at times because I see all my colleagues that are now RN's with associates and bachelors but I know it was for the best that I waited the 6 years and was now able to take everything really serious. However, if I would have known Chemistry was going to have a large impact in the points system (that I was told nothing about) I would have definitely planned on taking it prior to applying! =\

I think they use the point system just for the initial round of cuts, don't get too hung up on that one B. I pretty sure they focus mainly on GPA. You'll be fine. :)

I really hope so I am such a worrier lol everyone always picks on me about it but I can't help it sometimes! ESP in a situation like this :angrybird5:
