Bristol Community College (BCC) Nursing 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone! I am creating this forum in hopes to connect with other pre-nursing students who will be applying into BCC's program for Fall of 2020! What are your grades and TEAS scores? Also, current/former students, do you have any advice or insight on the program?

I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm taking child development and micro right now, along with the courses I need to get the health sciences associate in May. A&P 2 will be my summer course.

I think we're in the same child development and micro classes!

I'm taking Micro, Child Development, and Sociology now and just have a few more classes to take in the summer.

I think it's crazy that the program is so competitive that I'm worried about getting into e-health with a 3.95gpa. I hope we all make it, and honestly if I make it I'm fine with any color they pick.

Yeah I don't like how competitive it is to get in. I heard that not a lot of people apply for the ehealth.. but I don't know how true that is.

I asked a while ago to guess our clinical scrub color for fun. They had a REALLY ugly green a few years back that nobody wants back lol

Oh I see.. I'm easily confused and misunderstood sometimes. ?
Yeah, no ugly green please!

So I am confused. I actually spoke to Katie Spavento about the application process for Nursing a week before it was due. I needed her approval to fix something on my app so that’s how we ended up speaking.

I asked Katie what the decision process was like for choosing “eHealth” as my first choice and “traditional” as my second. Katie said both are filled at the same time. She explained that if eHealth was filled and I wasn’t one of the candidates selected, then I would be considered for my second choice. However, she stated that the only way I would get a chance of getting into my second choice (traditional) is if they didn’t fill all the seats. Since Nursing is a competitive major... those seats will be completely filled with a waiting list. They would fill “traditional” FIRST with those who put it as at their FIRST CHOICE. Same scenario if Traditional was your first choice and eHealth was your second choice.

Admissions told me the same thing. My advisor said she wasn’t sure. Was anyone told something similar? It’s confusing how admissions, advisement and etc all day different things.

I ended up choosing “traditional” as my first choice since there are more seats available. eHealth has 24 or 25 I think?

I was worried classes I took in High school at BCC would make me not get in. But they keep telling me they don't look at anything but the pre-requisites

Haha! true!

@CourtTonetto94 said hers was May last year

Yes! It was in May. It was an all day thing like 8-2:30 but it was a good day.

So excited for you all! Waiting is torture though for sure.

i was thinking of going to Diman if I don’t get in but I’m not too sure. I haven’t heard great things about them.

Does diman have an RN program? I thought it was LPN. And I had heard BCC wants to get rid of the LPN bridge program

Yes. It’s only LPN.

This thread has me feeling the same way. I was told yes there are less seats, but less people apply. It's not looking that way this semester. My anxiety is at an all time high these letters need to go out or Degree Works needs to update already.

Anybody else not able to get into degree works?

I got in fine. I’ve been checking twice a day lol.
