Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Can you tell me about your ETEA experience annie_v2g? How do you find it?

How was it the first few weeks of lectures and theories?

It was good. Our educators teaches well. they will cover everything that you need to know. You wont find it difficult to adjust since you've done nursing in our country.

Hi sbeattrix

How many months did you wait for you loe? I sent my papers last December and haven't received any feedback yet.

Hi cclolly859,

Try to inquire ahpra about your case. 2 and a half months is too long not to hear from them. For me, I also waited around 1 month and kept inquiring as to my status through AHPRA's web inquiry. Then after 1 month, I received a notification saying i have outstanding requirements. So once I knew the lacking documents...I set to work in getting those. It took me 2 months to get it, sent it by express and get a reply from them saying they got it. So I filed my application Last year August. Got my LOE 1st week of December. I applied in AHPRA Victoria. All papers were sent by fed ex.

Pray and inquire and even call them for updates if you have to.

God bless us.;-)

You know what, i met a lot of filipinos here who tells me about some agencies who offers sponsorship..thats why im not that worried.

Hope you could share the agency names and hospitals that offer sponsorship once your employed...Thanks!

NO, how can they? This is not run by the Australian government indeed the Australian government wants to cutback on overseas sponsorship and stricter controls are in place to make sure an Australian applicant has not been found after much time advertising before an employer can sponsor an applicant.

You the applicant have made the decision to apply and try your luck afterwards as you must have a working visa and this requires getting sponsorship from an employer.

At this time many new Australian graduates and those with much work experience are not getting work.

It is election time and it looks like immigration and sponsorship will be decreased considerably if the opposition party are voted in, and that is a big possiblity as at the moment that is very popular with most voters as many people, including professionals, (nurses) are unemployed.

They say elections are done already...I am just curious....but did the opposition won?

September 14, is next federal election and the opposition will win, because when employment is hard to get, immigration is looked at and is very popular for a political party to advocate decreasing immigration.

Though the government party in place at the moment Labour with Julia Gillard the leader has finally recognised publicly that the 457 visa is over used at the moment, especially as many skilled jobs are not in shortage and there are many ways for people - organisations to sponsor from overseas, relatives and friends and for a payment, when therer is no shortage, as that in nursing at this time and some of these sponsors pay even less wages than locals and nobody who is sponsored would say anything....just for a chance at becoming a permanent resident.

Yes. That was last year.

12 days?

hi marklouiemarco,

12 days, yes...i received my offer letter today, also 12 days after verification of documents. Maybe it's because they give 2 weeks to an applicant to secure his slot before offering the cancelled ones to others. Thank you.

But geez, the scheduled intake is one month after my LOE expires. Which do you think is a better option? Apply to other schools or contact AHPRA? Gracias. :D

Ask for extension. Contact your officer and explain the situation
