It is the only remaining hospital based program in Connecticut. I know nothing about the program. However, in a hospital based program, you WILL get comprehensive clinical experience.

I just graduated from the accelerated program. I started Sept. 2004 and graduated Dec. 2005. It was extremely difficult. ...but also worth it. It is intense and prepared me extremely well for the NCLEX. The clinical experience was extensive.

Good Luck.

hi i dont go there but i applied last month and got a letter this week that said i have to take the TEAS exam in March? i am really nervous about taking the exam. Did you apply to Bridgeport ? :)

I applied in September and took the TEAS test in January, which were they administering in Jan. and Feb. My original letter stating that they received my application stated the admission committee would be making a decision in the early spring, did it say the same thing on yours?. If you aren't taking the TEAS test until March, that doesn't leave much hope that I'll hear from them in March! Anyway, when I was there for the exam, they said that the TEAS was just being used as a guide, they would weight each individual based on the TEAS score, GPA, experience, letters of rec. and essay. Good luck!

hi tanner523 - I applied to Bridgeport in Dec. and just got my letter last week about the exam, it did say that they will be letting people know early spring. How hard was the TEAS ? Did you apply anywhere else ?I also applied to the Nursing Program at Gateway Community College.

Hi, I only applied to BHSON because it required only the prereq. of Chemistry, I am taking math now and then I will be applying to Gateway, what prereqs have you taken? When is your TEAS test?

Has anyone heard from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing yet ??? I have'nt heard a word and it is driving me crazy . :uhoh3:

Hi!

Yes, I received my letter of acceptance on March 17! There website says that they are accepting applications until June 31, 2006. Maybe you should call them.

P.S. I emailed you to see if you heard, glad you posted!

CONGRATULATIONS THAT IS GREAT !

I recieved an acceptance letter from BHSON on March 17th also...:balloons: . I think it's pretty funny that we both remember the day!! LOL!! :lol2: I wonder if they extended their application date to June because they didn't have enough people applying? That would seem weird because I talked with a lady last month (I was trying to find out when the letters would come out), she said that there was no way they could accept all of those applying. Have you heard anything about the hospital contracts yet--the "work for us for 2 yrs after you graduate and we'll pay for your school contracts"?? Thanks, Melanie

Hi! It's nice to meet someone attending the program! I have decided to defer my enrollment until Sept. of 07 so that I can complete my nonnursing courses (A&P 1, 2, Micro. and communications) and only have to take nursing courses. I have heard that Bridgeport Hospital would pay for your tuition if you committed to them for 2 years and that other hospitals would buy them out for you to work for them. I don't know if they still do this. Who told you about the "work for us for 2 yrs after you graduate and we'll pay for your school contracts". I would love to hear any info. you have on this!
