Bridgeport Hosp School of Nursing Acceptance anyone???

Published

Hi All you current and future nurses out there.

I am awaiting a decision from Bridgeport Hospital school of nursing and I was just wondering if anyone has received an acceptance from them yet. If so please share. Thanks.

FYI..acceptance letters dont usually come around till spring!! I got into Norwalk last year and I am currently in my 2nd semester of my 1st year...BHSN, St Vincents, Norwalk..all great nursing programs..Naugatuck Valley is another excellent choice..I did my research and based my decisions on how long the school has been around, what their attrition rate is(how many students drop out) and what their NCLEX pass rate is..basing it on how nice the secretary is shouldn't be a measure for how great the school is..and from the friends that I have in various nursing programs and friends who are nurses..there are great instructors and bad ones in EVERY program...

I am a student at St Vincent's College of Nursing at this time and enjoying every minute of it. St Vincent's is the only program that works for me, since I believe they are the only program closer to me with an evening program. I did go to Norwalk Nursing Program about 10 years ago and failed out, so I dont know how the program is now, but then, it was brutal. Rightnow, St Vincent's is the only school that works for me. I am sure every program has its positives and negatives. At the end, when you become an RN, it really does not matter whether you went to St V's, BHSN or Norwalk. The goal is to find a school that will work for you, whether is time, money or location.

Well since I put all of my eggs in one basket I can only speak on BHSN. I agree with FutureNursy in the fact that the staff at BHSN is extremely helpful. That is definitely a plus when it comes to dealing with the anxiety of the wait period before you we find out if we're accepted or not. BHSN is the oldest hospital based program in CT and is very reputable Every school definitely has its pros and cons. I wouldn't know the cons of BHSN since I have not attended the school yet. But first impressions are important in every instance in life. When I feel like Im being treated as a number and not a person, that kind of makes me feel that the school is not very personable and not really interested in my success but more interested in the tuition fees being in ontime. Now I can't speak for any other school in the area because I have only applied to and spoken to BHSN. They fit my needs and my goals with their accelerated program. If I get accepted for this fall I will hopefully graduate by next December.:yeah:If by chance I don't get accepted, I will be looking into St. V's or another CC in the area.

My last point is that this IS a forum. People are entitled to their own opinions and are allowed to express them in any way they wish. No one should down anyone elses opinion. Besides, this is why we come to things like this so we can see what other people are thinking on a particular subject right?

Mercyteapot...What do you mean?

Good luck to both of you! I go there now and I really like it. The instructors are very helpful and they all seem to want you to succeed. It is tough and a lot of work. Even with that I enjoy it.

Again, best of luck

How is the schedule at bhsn if you attend full time. Do you have to go all day everyday?

Are you guys in Bridgeport's accelerated program? If so, how is it going? when do you plan to take your NCLEX?
