BRCC NURSING 2016

Published

Is there anyone applying to BRCC's nursing program for Fall 2016? I would like to talk to people who are so I don't feel so lonely.

Hi brad 2018,

I will take hesi soon. I am worried about that there are so many questions that the time is not enough for me.

Could you please kindly tell me how many questions for each part? So I can manage the time more efficiently. Appreciate!

Absolutely! Each section is 55 questions. Except the biology part, that was 30 questions. I think I made the mistake of doing my reading and math last. That took most of my time.

You got this!

Hi Brad 2018,

thanks for all your information. I took HESI last year without biology part, and I used the full test time. It seems to me the time is not enough last year. This year they add the biology, but the test time is almost the same. I think the questions of the previous four parts will be reduced. I am very nervous now because you told me the other four parts are still 55 questions. The biology is completely new for me. Are there any AP questions in biology except for the content of BIOL120? In addition, do I need to bring my own calculator for the test?

Hey! The biology part do not consist of A&P material. Just biology 120 kind of stuff. (Btw I HATED that class)

And you don't need to bring a calculator because they give you one to use on the computer.

But don't stress! You got this!

You applied to Brcc last year? How did you do last year?

I thought the grammar and vocabulary parts were a joke, as well as biology. I breezed through that and made a 100% on the biology, but I love biology. A lot of my classmates freaked themselves out about the biology section and thats where they screwed themseves up, because they were nervous and couldnt just relax and think about it. I did math and reading comp first because I knew that would take the bulk of my time. I did the critic thinking last. You have to use the calculator they give you on the computer. Overall it was very easy, the only hard part is managing your time. I finished in just over 2 hours but a lot of my friends took the entire time and some of them didn't finish in time.

And with that kind of a GPA on top of that HESI score you should get in. I know people who got in no problem with 3.5s and 85s on the HESI so you're golden

You need to be my study buddy when we get in Hahaha

You did well enough to get in with high GPA. I did very bad in reading last year cause time is not enough for me to finish reading part. I just rushed to click one answer at last few minutes. I only scored 68 on reading. It is a shame that I didn't have the chance to get in last year, even though I have a 4.0 GPA and the other three parts:math 98, grammar 90, vocabulary 80. Time kills me. If I have more time I would get absolutely higher score in reading. That's why I wonder how many questions we have to go through after they added the biology. Ah, I really have problem to manage my time effectively. any suggestions for me this time?

Hey, thanks for all your reply. BTW, what kind of reading materials you come across this year? Are they related to medical disease and some kind of stuff? I remember last time I encountered no medical related materials, and some jokey game rules about how to play and determine which player win. Totally have no idea about the game, and I guess I did all the questions wrong on that material.

I would say do the reading and math first. And just stay at a steady pace and remain calm!

And the reading consist of medical stuff and just regular stories

Thanks. I will try my best. Hope to get in this year. Amen!

Hey guys!! I took the hesi on the 17th and made a 90 and my gpa is a 3.4 with 2 classes taken at brcc. I hope that my stuff is good enough for me to get in.
