Brazosport nursing school Fall 2010

I am applying to Brazosport College of nursing for the fall 2010 semester. I was hoping to find others that are applying there as well. I turned in my application yesterday and am hoping I get accepted. They said they will send out acceptance/denial letters 2-3 weeks after the application deadline. They said last semester about 80 applied and 24 got accepted. Does anyone know if they have a nursing information session?

I also applied there and i'm now waiting for "THE LETTER" .. I don't believe they have nursing information sessions like the other schools.. i've asked them and when i read the application letter, it didn't mention anything about it, not even on the check list... i talked to the counselors and the secretary of Health Professions.. and they never said anything about it.. so i think we're safe =) .. Good Luck with everything and hope you get in! .. i've been on my tippy-toes since I turned in that application... now the waiting game :uhoh3:

btw: i was talking about the LVN program..

Hi... Good to see there is someone else on this discussions board that's applying to Brazosport! I'm applying to the adn program but we're both on the same page with the waiting game and all. The adn application deadline was April 15th so I'm thinking they should be sending letters any day now. In the nursing packet it says they will have interviews May 15-30th so the interview letters should be being sent out very soon. I was thinking I would at least get an interview letter but now I'm not so sure. I wonder if anyone has gotten one. I emailed and asked the nursing dept 2 questions, one of which was when they would send the letters out but they only answered my first question and did not tell me when they would : (

I also applied there, for the ADN program. Have you received any information, yet? I been checking my mail regularly, with no luck

Tep- No, I haven't received anything yet. I'm getting so worried because the packet says interviews start next week! I emailed the school today asking if they've sent them out. I'm not the only one who checks the mail at my house so I'm so worried that it will be overlooked! That is, if I actually get a letter : )

i just got a response back from the school:

"no interviews have been scheduled and no letters have been sent. we are sorting through the files this week and we hope to begin sending letters very soon. we know how eager folks are to hear something. end of semester and graduation (5/8) occupied all our time.

won’t be long!"

When did they email you that letter? I'm getting really worried too! How's your stats look? I have a 3.67 science Gpa, 3.61 Prereq Gpa and 3.05 overall Gpa. I took my Tea's for Utmb at a different location so it may be a different version but I was in the top 90 percentile. I hope they really are behind and not just blowing us off. It's just taking so much longer than what the website says. Have you applied anywhere else? I'm applying to College of the Mainland and San Jac, as well. Please keep me posted if you receive anything.

I also applied at college of the mainland and at Galveston. I have 3.47 science gpa, 3.48 prereq and a 3.08 overall.. I took the teas test and was at the 85 percentile.

I sent an email today to the school and they told me that they just started to contact the applicants for an interview, they should be calling this week so be ready

Yes!! So good to hear we'll know something soon. Have you taken medical terminology yet? That's the only class I haven't taken. I'm planning on taking it in the summer if I get accepted, so hopefully I will know before summer classes. Is it a hard class?

Yes I have, it's pretty easy class. Make sure you attend each class and get some index cards. Pretty much it's all vocabulary and since you took a&p already it basically review.

Ok cool. I'm taking medical terminology online.

College of the mainland called me today and approved me to take an Rnsg class for the summer- Health Assessment. It starts next week. It doesn't mean I'm in the program though. So I still have to wait for the mail man to bring me the news! I think most of the other schools I applied to will let me transfer the class to their RN program if I didn't get in. Everything's just so up in the air right now. I can't wait to receive a letter.. just one!!!

Maybe tomorrow??
