Boston Direct Entry Masters and DNP 2020

Published

Thought I would create a topic for this application cycle. I made one for both DNP and Masters since DNP applicants are considered for the Master's program as well. I assume that means they sometimes defer people to the Master's if they feel that they are not a good fit for the DNP program

Has anyone had this 10 minute interview? Curious as to what it will consist of.

I had mine earlier. It actually lasted about 20 mins and was definitely not a conversation. I was asked several questions and my suggestion is to be really prepared to answer “Why Nursing.”

I just had my phone interview this morning! Mine was definitely more of a conversation and it was nice to hear from the interviewer about her experiences. I thought it went really well, I am glad I was prepared with questions to ask. The woman who interviewed me told me that I would hear back from the admissions committee in early February with their decision.

Specializes in CNS.

Those of you that had the interview, was it for different specialties or just Psych? I'm curious because I applied for the FNP and have not heard back!

I just called and the admissions office said that they have never interviewed in the past, but the Psych program has chosen to do some interviews this year. The person who I spoke with said that applicants to other specialties should not expect an interview request. Hope that helps! Good luck!!

Hi everyone! Getting more and more nervous. Anyone else apply to the WHNP track?

I applied for Psych and had an interview but I’m nervous too, because I don’t know what the timeline is for admissions decisions. Can not find one anywhere. Does anyone know when they might be issuing decision emails?

I was told mid to late feburary. They didn't tell you that in the interview? I knew anyway from looking at previous year's forums, but still

It didn’t come up! The suspense is killing me. ?? I’m pretty confident, but I need to plan my life if I get in. This program is NOT cheap. Did you apply for any other programs?

How odd and yeah me too, I'm honestly just going through things one day at a time. Otherwise, I'd get way too anxious thinking ahead. I did apply to other schools, seems like the cost is similar though no matter where it is. I'm prepared to get things in order regarding where to live and whatnot as soon as we hear back.

Hey gang,

I emailed them and they said “late January or early February at the latest”

anyone know estimated cost over the roughly 3 years?

I looked at the website and all I could find was $1460/credit hour. I am out of state so I was looking for the total cost of all 3 years as well. Does anyone have an idea? or does anyone know how many credit hours it would be in total? Thanks!

Hi all,

Applied to FNP track, and I've limited myself to checking my email twice a day, because it was getting crazy.

My GRE score was poor, but I wouldn't worry about it. Since there's no minimum they suggest or accept, I doubt it is the largest factor in decision making. I've read over and over again that applications are considered holistically, so any weakness can be overlooked. More important are your essays, grades, recommendations, not a standardized test that gives little insight into the provider you'll be.

Hello! I am also very nervous about how short the program is, but I am wondering if there are different amounts of time for different NP directions?

I did call and ask and there is no interview and they said you will get an email in January of February if you have got in or not.

I also did not see how many people typically apply? And how many people actually get in? Does anyone know the stats on that?

I am also pretty nervous about my GRE score because it was not great... I am not sure how much emphasis they put on the GRE?
