Boston Direct Entry Masters and DNP 2020

Published

Thought I would create a topic for this application cycle. I made one for both DNP and Masters since DNP applicants are considered for the Master's program as well. I assume that means they sometimes defer people to the Master's if they feel that they are not a good fit for the DNP program

I misspoke! You do get your RN. What I meant was you don’t get the BSN. So you aren’t conferred your degree until the end of the program. I just emailed them to confirm and that’s what they said. BSN and MSN you don’t receive until the end of the three years. So yes you can work as an RN before, but you won’t have the BSN degree. Also, only 10% of the DEN class is allowed to work part time, so I don’t think it’s too common to do what your friend did. But that’s awesome she was able to work and complete the program?

Did you apply to northeastern? You get the bsn their after the rn portion which is nice but you have the 1 year rn work requirement which is a turn off for some people

Current BC student here! I think Boston provides as many resources-and has access to so may amazing hospitals. I can speak to the culture of BC as being amazing and truly service based. The people here are so different from other schools. It’s an awesome place! You’ll definitely see that at accepted students day ?

How are you financing your education, if you don't mind me asking?

I gave up my spot in the Women's Health DNP program. Good luck to people on the wait list!!

I just gave up my spot for the pediatric DNP program to attend Northeastern! Best of luck to everyone on the waitlist.

Anyone from the waitlist hear back yet? I assumed that since the deadline to pay was March 2nd, we would hear something if someone gave up their seat?

Hello! I was wondering if people were pulled off of the alternate list yet? I am on the alternate list for family!

according to the website we would be considered for both DNP or Masters, anyone have an idea if they are pulling from the alternate list?

No problem! I got denied after the interview so I kind of pushed it out of my mind haha! I do remember they mentioned my grades as I had Cs on my transcript. They asked other typicals like why Boston, why nursing? It didn't necessarily feel like an interrogation or like a formal interview until they asked about my grades. If I am honored with one again, I am more prepared to answer that now and am in progress for another course so hopefully a good grade will help me out. I will be asking about the gre because they said they would not include that this year.
