Boston Direct Entry Masters and DNP 2020

Published

Thought I would create a topic for this application cycle. I made one for both DNP and Masters since DNP applicants are considered for the Master's program as well. I assume that means they sometimes defer people to the Master's if they feel that they are not a good fit for the DNP program

Hi! I'm also looking at applying to the Boston College MSN/ DNP program for fall 2020. I'm so nervous!!

Me too! I've been impressed by how quickly they respond to questions and whatnot when I ask. They're also one of the only programs to offer DNP direct entry so it would be amazing to be in their program I'm sure!

Hi! I'm also applying! Anyone have any idea what the total credit hours are for the entire program?

Sorry, no idea. I think they had sample schedules but I didn't pay attention to that part in particular. I was more so looking for support they provide for students. Looking at the website now, yeah it's general from what I can see. They only mention taking 7 credits during the first summer as for as being specific goes. Maybe you can call them and ask, they have answered every time I call.

I guess I’m just nervous about course load because the program is short for a DNP.

It is definitely the shortest I ever seen for dnp in the fact that it combines masters and dnp material in one. I wonder if there would be a way to ask current students how they handled it ?. Maybe checking if there is a forum for last year or another year, or finding some other way to talk to a current student. Because that is a good question and legitimate concern to have.

I am applying this cycle as well. Any idea on when they will send out interview invites and then decisions?

From the past 2 years forums they sent it on the last day of january-mid February. I'm not sure about invitations to interview, they didn't interview last year from what I know

Just submitted my application to BC! Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know who I should email to let them know I'll be abroad in January with limited internet/ phone access?

Hello! I am also very nervous about how short the program is, but I am wondering if there are different amounts of time for different NP directions?

I did call and ask and there is no interview and they said you will get an email in January of February if you have got in or not.

I also did not see how many people typically apply? And how many people actually get in? Does anyone know the stats on that?

I am also pretty nervous about my GRE score because it was not great... I am not sure how much emphasis they put on the GRE?
