Boston College Masters Entry 2015

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hi all,

I couldn't find the thread to this, and since the deadline had passed, I'm wondering if anyone else here applied for the program!

I need to complete pathophysiology (online) before the start of the school. Can anyone recommend a cheap school to take it at? :)

it seems like this is normal for the psych specialty, looking back on previous years.

I think it might for psych because I just had one yesterday. Similar to KYM42. Which track did you apply to?

I also applied to the PMHNP track (Fall 2015). Psychnphopeful, how did your Skype visit go?

ejane88, how did your interview go?

Pretty well I think! they said we'd likely hear in a few weeks. BC is my top choice so I hope I get in.

Does anyone know how many they accept in each track?

According to the FAQs page, they admit 42 students across the 4 tracks.

I'm a little bummed since I've not received a call for a phone or Skype interview yet.

i'm just curious, what is everyone's thoughts on bc's program (no bsn) vs. other absn/msn programs?? i get that it's up to you on what you're looking for, but i hear mixed things about going through the direct-entry route and not coming out with a bsn. knowing this, i still applied to bc. their fnp program is still within the top 25 and i'm preeeetty sure i only want to work as an fnp, not as an rn. i've heard negative things from younger nurses, though, like magnet/bigger hospitals won't hire nurses without bsn. what do you guys think?

... I'm taking an online class from Yuba College that starts in January, and was able to get the fee waived because I qualified for the BOG Fee Waiver. If I don't get into BC, I'm going to drop the class haha.

@snailszy, are you taking the NURS 36 pathophysiology course? i also need to take patho, but i was planning to wait until i hear from bc before enrolling.. i'm getting worried about timing though. do you get full refund back if you drop the course??

I just got accepted on the FNP tract! Anyone else?

I'm in for Peds!

Accepted for FNP!!
