-sigh-
I decided that I needed a break from LTC and SNF to be a pediatric home care nurse. However, I'm staring to miss the hussle and bussle of getting through a hectic and almost unbearable shift at a nursing facility.
I'm so bored at my current job that I can't bear the thought of going back to work . Yet, I plan to hang in there because I have no other choice and its pretty flexible with school. I do try things to pass the time other than my nursing duties but time still drags.... my shifts range between 8-11 hours/day. Sometimes I catch myself dosing off in the middle of the day:yawn: and have to fight to stay awake.
This is just a vent. I am so grateful I have a job and atleast I don't have to pass meds for 20 plus people and be totally stressed. I know no job is perfect but this is definitely not my niche.
I know how you feel. People claim they would love to have a job where they are bored but I can guarantee half those people would be wishing to go back to their hectic job. And yes, "playing all day" can be boring!
One poster mentioned getting a per diem job in LTC just to get the rush every once in a while, is that possible? It may help. I know personally I am looking for a new job but if the schedule and pay work for you then it may be best to stay where you are.

Playing with legos for 9 hours is boring after a while.
