I'm almost done with pre-reqs, then I start my fast track BSN program. What books would you suggest reading to help prepare for school?

I haven't started yet but from reading thru threads, most say enjoy yr time before school starts!! I think if you have your fundamentals book you could get a head start there. I have a book called How to Survive nursing school and like it!! I'm not home so I don't have the authors name. However, if you go to amazon with that title it will come up!! :)
Good luck to you! Enjoy yr summer with friends and family because come Fall we'll be hitting the ground running!!

Thank you. I have 3 kids I would like to start reading an hour or two after bedtime so I'm not so overwhelmed in the beginning. I am coming from the marketing field so I am very unfamiliar with most medical terms and aspects. I'm so nervous!
Do u have a medical terminology book?
Have you taken A&P?

I read 2 books last week to prepare me for my BSN program in the fall. "How to Survive Nursing School (Maybe Even Love It)" by Kelli Dunham & "Mosby's Tour Guide to Nursing School" by Melodie Chenevert -- I recommend both. Good luck!
Yep that's the one I was speaking of earlier. It was a great read!

Read a good novel that you have been wanting to read, because once you start school this will no longer be a possibility.
It's great that you want to get a head start on your reading. I have been out of school for more than 5 years but I think some good things to read (or even Google) are: The Nursing Process, your Nursing Fundamentals book (beginning chapters), the above mentioned books regarding starting school sound good too.
Good luck to you as you start this new adventure. :)
I don't get time for that stuff anyways lol. I'm currently a stay at home mom of 3 kids, 2 under 3. Thank you for the recommendations, I want to start reading them if I get time after homework.

I liked Test Success. Good read before nursing school. However, I think it's unlikely that anything we suggest will really help you get ahead in your program. Best case scenario, get your books and talk to someone in your program (or a professor) about reading specific to your program.
I agree with the rest, though. Your time is best spent enjoying your little ones before it's cut short. The future will take care of itself :)
