saunder's comprehensive review for nclex. bc of the type of questions you will be asked, the book will be usefull throughout the program.
and
student nurses succes by gnugent
when you go to bc website there is a reading list that one of the teachers place for the first semester.
okay thanks!!!!
no prob. i just sent you the email of the teacher's website, and reading list of topics that are discussed in the first class of the semester... she is from the north campus-- but at south, we read the same topics too
your at south? how is it.. is it true that central is not all that good when it comes to prof. . think i may be going to north.. but i live by south and central
no no no... I already graduated from south campus- BC back in 2007.
Even before I started nursing, I always heard that north campus was the best, central the worst, and south in the middle of the two.
Im in miami, so I went to south-- there was no way i was gonna drive 50 miles to nursing school!
anywho, if you have a choice between central and south, then pick south--
the classroom is smaller in south campus, so you will always be able to sit in the front of the class rooms, like i did (lol), the library is only a couple of years old, so it's still very nice, and the private study rooms are phenomenal, they fit about 5-6 students, so you can study in groups after you study on your own.
there were at least 5 students in my class that did not have great experiences at central campus, so they made up some excuse to transfer to south campus, and they did and they came with quite some stories.
everyone experiences things differently and have different view on things, once i read somewhere here that central was not that bad---
but from my point of view-- i would personally stay away from central all together.
im applying for the may term. so hopefully south will have a term.. they say it will be a last minute decision

Yes, Bumblebee actually graduated from South about two years ago. Lucky her! :grad:
I am currently at south. I just want to stress to you, that you shouldn't be so hung up on which campus is "better". I used to be the same way. I took pre-reqs at all campuses, but I live in Miami. So naturally south was closest to me. But I had heard so many horror stories about south and central, and I was terrified to choose either one for the program. I seriously considered driving an extra hour PER DAY to go to north, just to escape those "evil" instructors I had heard so much about. LOL
But in the end, I chose south and am very glad I did. I have no idea which campus is better, harder, or has the worst instructors. I think there are good and bad at all three. You should base your decision on which campus is most convenient for you, and make up your mind that you are going to do this, without letting other people stand in your way. As long as you listen to what you are told, study hard, and don't stand out for negative things, I think you have the same shot at passing at all three campuses.
Good luck to you! And start looking over your math from the site Bumble sent. Believe it or not, to date we have lost more people from that, than any lecture or clinical. Learn the rounding rules and conversions sheet, because for us, not all instructors let you use it for the exam.
thanks!!! i hope they have a class at south in May, I live so near!!!! the math seems so hard.
I chose south for the convenience too.
I live 24.5 miles from south campus--
I knew two girls that failed the first semester of the program, one was from south campus, and the other from central.
yeah, i was scared to failed, that's why I studied super hard,
i would come from school, eat-- then take an hour nap, my alarm would wake me up, then i would study until 1 am,
i ate lots of cookies, and lived on coffee all night--------
but it was so worth it!!!
I would leave my house at 7 so i wouldn't be late for the class-- i always got there at 8, so i would go to the library to read, or use the net or talk to my classmates.
The math exams are scary, because of the pressure of only being able to miss one. And it is SO easy to make simple mistakes. I still have about five more to take. So trust me, I worry about it all the time. But it can be done.
If you send me your e-mail address via PM, I can send you some math power points if you want. They might help you start to figure things out before you get the book. Or you can also get the book from now, and just start practicing.
