Not even sure if they have the exam done for this year, so how are they going to have something ready for more than a year from now?
And this is again something that makes no sense at all to me. Anything and everything that was covered in your four year program is game for being on an exam, there is absolutely no reason for it to even be discussed beforehand.
You will not see that done in any other country in the world.
I guess this is something else that sets your country apart from the rest.
All I can add is: What were they thinking?
I think that they prepare the exam questions only a month or even a couple of weeks before the exam date. Because I remember last year that as soon the board of nursing members were finished making the exam, they went somewhere where they can't be contacted, to be absolutely sure that no leakage of the exam answers would happen.
And believe me, you don't need the board exam exam coverage. It's anything goes. Better to be prepared for any question rather than just focusing on several select topics. They don't really follow what is listed in the exam coverage anyway... :)
The coverage is listed in the paper given when you register for the exam. It usually revolves around the 11 core nursing competencies. Basically, anything under the sun throughout your study in a BSN program.
I understand that, but why do they feel that it is necessary to even publish something like this, that is what makes no sense to me at all. Everyone is required to be able to answer anything that they learned in school, not what comes out before an exam. And if the exam is not even written until close to the exam, this is also really useless.
Just another way or excuse for shoddy review centers to insist that they know all of what is going to be on an exam.
You still will not see this being done in any other country, and the Philippines is the one that is having all of the issues with exams at this time. Currently, the Physical Therapist exam that was given there has been thrown out for cheating by one of the more upstanding review centers. and I say that in jest.
