BMCC Hesi 2015 For Spring 2016

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello Everyone,

So I successfully passed the HESI, December 3, 2015. I would like to begin communication with other students who applied for BMCC Nursing program and successfully passed the HESI. The nursing department told me students should expect calls after New Years.

My HESI score breakdown-

Math 90%

A&P 88%

Reading Comprehension 82%

Cumulative average= 86%

Math 104+A&P1+English 101+Psychology100= 3.94 GPA

[ Consisting of 3 A's & 1A-]

I hope my HESI cumulative score along with my GPA is good enough for me to be accepted into the Nursing Program Spring 2016 Cohort [i applied for the day program]

If you have the funds please attend a private school. I am currently BMCC Nursing student and this program is horrible, the will not teach and give you critical care/np exam questions. This school will take your life and health.

Unfortunately, many students like myself do not want to have the burden of loans once we graduate. There are other schools like SUNY, that intended Nursing students may want to look into because it is about 2,000 dollars higher than CUNY but it may be a better option. I am not too sure about the quality SUNY nursing programs compared to CUNY though, I just know it is much cheaper than private school. May you please expand on why your experience at BMCC is so horrible as you briefly mentioned?

Thank you.

"Once graduate" is a wonderful on paper, wait until you are in the program you begin to realize the torture is not worth a few thousand saved. You will remember this post a few semesters from now. Or go to the nursing rooms during college hours and ask the students. Nothing like first hand account from people who are actually in said program.

Hi

please tell me that I'm not dreaming... I thought I had a chance to get into the program since I have I passed the hesi test with 80% overall and I got 3A's and a B+ in the 4 prerequisites! But after I have the comments on these postings I have lost the little confidence I had. Anyone who is already in the program pleaaaaaaaase hepl me! Tell me to stop dreaming

Anxiously waiting for a response this week. Anyone one else waiting to hear from the nursing dept?

I'm waiting even if I don't have the 4.0 gpa everybody is talking about. I can't eat or sleep

Do you know anybody who is accepted with 3.84 gpa?

I think GPA is important but does not exactly have to be a 4.0. On the nursing program paper I received from the nursing department after I took the HESI, explaining the program more in depth it said the lowest GPA for 2014-2015 was a 3.5. So if you have a 3.8 I would just try to wait for a phone call and remain hopeful. As that is the only thing any of us can do at this point and of course have other options which is always good to have. Have faith, I know its nerve racking I am just sitting by the phone. Every time it rings and its not a 212 number I get angry lol. It is important for everyone to remember there is more than 1 option, and not to be discouraged. I hope the best for you @Hope16 I also called the nursing department today, they said students should expect a phone call either this week or next week and they will contact everyone whether they are accepted or not. [3.84 is a great GPA btw] How did you do on the HESI?

I don't have a 4.0 anymore but I'm still hopeful. I keep checking my phone nonstop.

I am confident about my pre-req and overall GPA but slightly doubtful about my HESI score (86 overall), if anything that will be my downfall. I believe they look mainly @ the pre-req GPA but also consider the overall as well. I am checking my phone nonstop as well. I have to travel underground to get back home and I don't even want to do that, lol afraid about not having service and them not leaving a voicemail. :-( You applied for the Evening program right @chrissy_bmcc?

Thank you so much for your words! They meant a lot to me... I will try to remain calm for a week or two! Is it easy? No I don't think soí ½í¹‰,double ? Yes. I think we all should stay positive.

Yes, I applied to the evening program. But I keep thinking the seats they save for the 1199 union members will be taken from the evening slots. I checked the open seats for NUR112 and they have 50 seats for morning/afternoon and 25 for evening. Evening spots are not too many and that makes me think it's more competitive. I'm biting my nails here.
