BMCC Hesi 2015 For Spring 2016

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello Everyone,

So I successfully passed the HESI, December 3, 2015. I would like to begin communication with other students who applied for BMCC Nursing program and successfully passed the HESI. The nursing department told me students should expect calls after New Years.

My HESI score breakdown-

Math 90%

A&P 88%

Reading Comprehension 82%

Cumulative average= 86%

Math 104+A&P1+English 101+Psychology100= 3.94 GPA

[ Consisting of 3 A's & 1A-]

I hope my HESI cumulative score along with my GPA is good enough for me to be accepted into the Nursing Program Spring 2016 Cohort [i applied for the day program]

Hey. I also took the HESI on 12/3. I'm so happy I passed. Just finishing up the last pre-req.

Congratulations! How did you do? I went to visit the nursing department today. They said more people passed the HESI than they have seats. I am not sure what weighs more, GPA or HESI score.

Math 90

Reading 94

A&p 96

Critical thinking 900

I don't know how they select students. I'm taking English 101 now, hope I get a good grade.

Those are excellent scores. I am sure you will get in with those grades. I didn't so hot in the English section, I only got an 82. I am

hopeful because my GPA is good. Good luck with English 101, I am sure you will do well.

Thank you! Good luck to you too.

I found this on bmcc's website: Students are selected for admission into the nursing program based on their combined overall average in the HESI A2 Admission Assessment Exam, their GPA in the four required pre-requisite courses (ENG 101, PSY 100, MAT 104, and BIO 425) and their overall GPA for courses applicable to the nursing curriculum.

Hope this helps

Thank you. My pre req GPA is good and my overall GPA is good. My HESI score isn't too great which worries me a bit. But thanks for the information! Good luck again. Let us know when you get the call during the first week of January.

Hi congrats!

I wanted to know if you have taken A&P2 yet and how did you study for the A&P section besides the Elevier study guide book, and also what type of topics where there on the A&P section

Hi jadeten,

I'm applying to the evening program so I already took a&p 2 and micro before I took the HESI. I used the study guide, my notes from A&p1,2 and the saladin text. I would say to study everything. It's better to be over prepared than not. Good luck!

I agree, the HESI study book is not enough for A&P. But if you are applying for BMCC, I do not believe they will be giving the HESI again. I am not too sure if they will be substituting the HESI with another entrance exam like the TEAS but when I went to the nursing department the advisor said there is no more HESI. You should double check and get as much information as you can if you are applying for the nursing program at BMCC for Fall 2016!

Are they really getting rid of the HESI exam? WOW. I actually took the TEAS at Lag. It's much harder and it was used differently in the application process. Basically if you scored between 72-75 then you can apply for the nursing program. If you scored like 59-71, you can apply for LPN. Then you are ranked by GPA.

I was told they were switching over to the Kaplan.
